  • How do I know what points I am generating and where from?

There doesn't seem to be a report screen that tells me exactly how much of the different kinds of points (exploration points, religious points etc) I am generating or where I am getting them from. Without a report like this, I don't know eactly how to improve my point generation. I would like to see something that tells me just how many points of each type I have been generating for each turn, a history right back to the beginning of the game perhaps, and shown graphically like alot of other statistics are. And if I click or hover over the specific points type, maybe it tells me how much I'm generating per turn at that time and where I'm getting them from.

Part of that problem is that points other than Political points (from Liberty Bells) and Religion Points (from Crosses and Missions) are not generated on a per-turn basis, but instead by specific player actions:

Exploration Points are generated every time you uncover new tiles on the map, or when you speak to the Chief of a Native Settlement that you have not spoken to before. If you have ships and Scouts rolling back the darkness at a good pace (say, two of each dedicated to the purpose) and are talking to the Chief of each new Native Settlement that you find, then you will be generating Exploration Points faster than your Political Points can keep up.

Trade Points are generated whenever you sell stuff, whether to Europe, to other Colonials, or to Natives. I am not sure whether the volume of goods or the total sales value counts more.

Military Points are generated whenever you gain XP for your soldiers.

Nevertheless, it would be good to have a screen which keeps track of what points you generated and how, in the last turn at least. Then you can figure out what you need to do to increase certain points you may want.

Heres' a question. If you trade world maps with another nation, does that mean you then lose potential exploration points by doing so?

I'm not sure--it might be the other way around, in which case you get instant credit for uncovering the area that you traded maps for.
