  • modding GlobalDefines.xml ?

GlobalDefines.xml -- what can and can't be modded in this file? for instance, i'm able to show that it's loading as it should by changing the start date; and modding the king's percentage of treasure haul shows that that's a live variable too. but, 'starting distances' -- that's something i'd like to change -- forcing the separate colonies to start very far from each other... like, well, on another continent if possible... and, i'm not seeing my input values being accepted in the game... i've still got, after i've started my little tropical hell, a spanish tropical hell upside my backside, and it bothers me.

AFAIK "starting distance" for Europeans refers to the distance between their ships at the beginning of the first turn where they first enter the New World, not the distance apart at which they found their settlements.

yes, i think so, but it doesn't work effectively. even with very large distance values the other guy is still right next to me and not up in nova scotia where i want him.
