Do you like to sit back and let the natives fight it out with the remaining 3 civs you didnt choose? or do you like to wage war with the other civs as well?

I don't waste resources on those wars (unless I get DoWed). If I get directly attacked I'll quickly get some hits in to get peace.

No use wasting soldiers when only one war in the game matters.

Well, the first 150 turns I am full on trade and hoard money. After turn 150 everyone who steps off the boat picks up a rifle.

Well, given that first horses/cannons are dirt cheap, even one citizen costs 600+ gold, and you get 5+ citizens from an enemy city, why not? Besides, if you kill them all then they can't declare independence
