Polystralia is the best faction. The trade routes make it vastly OP. There's no reason to even play any other faction... except maybe pan-asian. And even then, you have to go balls out building wonders for it to be worth it.

Kavithan may be the worst. Their bonus, +50% outpost growth, can be achieved with one trade route when needed. If you're Polystralia, you have many to spare.

Polystralia's +2 trade routes are good, but ARC's +espionage is an amazing second place. Chances are the AI is hitting different techs than you (definitely if it's shooting for a different affinity) so stealing techs means you'll likely complete the whole tech web.

Polystralia does have a tendency to become "assigning trade routes, the game" though, so be careful.

Try ARC on Marathon speed ... the Siphon Energy op doesn't adjust to the speed right and you get 10k Energy per success

Once Firaxis nerfs Trade Depots and Autoplants, Polystralia is only going to be stronger, with their extra trade routes being proportionately better than they are now.

Pan-Asian and ARC are both very good #2 choices.
