I play Chess, but I don't play well.

Will it be a PBEM thing or will we meet on one of the many online games sites that have chess?

If it happens it should be using ICC or something similar.

ICC ranking: hovered around 2000 when I played. ELO would be 5-10% lower.

IIRC Julius Brenzaida was somewhat better.

kcbob, Ken Hinds, Smash, myself and the unbeatable Julius Brenzaida played a couple of games. We set it up in the Other Games forum.

Julius is without a doubt the current Apolyton champion. Unfortunately, he doesn't seem to be around for the moment so challenging him will be difficult enough...

I don't think there is a case for a separate forum.............but a few threads in 'Other Games' seems reasonable.

Technically chess is a TBS and hence subject of this site. But I agree, a few threads in other games suffice for a start. If the playing gets wild (as you need a thread for each game) and the other posters complain, it would be time for a forum, though. CFC has a chess forum since long, even though it's not very active.

A subforum in other games might not be bad.

My two decade old highest USCF rating was 2184. I think the final was around 2156, since I got mauled by a few IMs and GMs and masters, etc.

I would guess I'm around 1600 strength. I've played about 20 games in the last four years, after a 17 year total hiatus, but I'm up for any sort of tournament or casual games.
