Forgot to put that in the log! Indians made peace as soon as I got close. And with all those lovely and vulnerable Freights to deliver to their juicey cities, is the unapologetic perfectionist going to say, "No?"

Next turn we ought to be able to ship howitzers to India in one turn, from anywhere in the empire.
[SG(2) mode] Didn't we already have about 40 units poised on continent 42 to jump across the straights? What we needed was more ships for chains to the French: up from Makrell once we're done with Gandhi, and across from Corinth now that Hyppolyta is history. [/mode]

Yes, and I'm using those troops to stomp Gandhi. About 1/2 of the troops were in Delhi when Delhi got nuked.

Secondly, this shipchain exists independently of all the other ones. I simply added to our existing merchant marine, rather than diverting ships from elsewhere.

Thirdly, look at the save, and the shipchain I'm constructing up to the French.

I'm not going to bother from Corinth, given that the ships are around 40 squares away, and the task force only about 20 squares. It's just one city out in the middle of nowhere.

Well, if only fifteen… or twenty… units got nuked I can see why you might not mention that…
What are turn logs for, again?

If you're going to break a ceasefire, do it emphatically.

And nothing says "to h*ll with your stinkin' ceasefire" like H-bombing your former capital city

"Our words are backed with nuclear weapons!"
"Oh, er, they're not. Any more. The YTS trainee pressed the wrong button, nuked our former capital and got us back into a war we were lucky to get out of."
"Er, er, um. Have I ever said how much I admire the leadership of President Kenobi?"

Oh, YTS stands for Youth Training Scheme, and was a way the government used to use to get young unemployed people work experience. (Also to reduce unemployment figures ). Is it still going?

Obiwan18 - was skipped, now played
    La Fayette - played
    SCG - MIA
    SG[1] - ???
    STYOM - played
    SG(2) - retired *sniff, sniff*
    Straybow - played
    Hydey - MIA
    DrSpike - skipped (MIA?)

Thanks for the PM, Stray - this game is foundering somewhat...

Do I gather that once Doc has played I get a lovely glowing nuclear turn?
If so - this will be my first ever nuclear turn in a Succession Game!! - and only about the fifth or sixth ever ...

Um, there is a problem. I downloaded the last save to continue the game, but it said it wasn't a save file. I tried the last few saves and none of them work.........even SG's original save.

All other game saves I have work though, just not any ones I download today. I even tried some from a different succession game. I reinstalled Civ2 to be sure, but the same thing happens. Version is 2.42.

    What's going on?

2.42 doesn't support gigamaps, so this is definitely MGE.

Oops. I convinced myself I played my last set of turns on this windows install. It must have been the last one, when I had MGE set up. Ok, will rectify this after I eat and thanks to the quick response can still get some turns in today.

A-ha, an enemy city. Oooh sir, I don't think I've ever seen such a large and magnificent empire.

1887 Tweak: BK has left things in order, but some vulnerable partisans were squished.

1888: Various partisan attacks, but nothing lost.

Calcutta captured. Enough partisans butchered to keep the bloodthirsty rodents happy.

1889: Indians found Punjab in our territory.

    Punjab captured
    Kolhapur captured
    Lahore captured

    Partisans mashed

[backpedal] I meant, of course, that to rile such a peaceful and civilised race SG would need to resort to underhand tactics. [/backpedal]

In any event, the French were the longest-surviving AIs in both the Mongol Horde game and this one.

So they're doing something right Or maybe they just happened to be furthest away

Is that the cap that you wear on holiday [1]?

And now for something entirely different......

Happy birthday to the wascally wabbit!

I hope that it's -Jrabbit's birthday in all your timezones too, but when the forums front page tells me it is then that's cause for celebration, regardless of whether he is out of bed yet.

For the record, the b'day is Oct. 28, and this one's the Big 5-0. Which bothers me not at all. Really.
