First: the word is Mestizo, and not all hispanics are mestizo. There are mullatoes, Zambos and an ednelss graduating scae of these.

White is incorrect as well, since northern Indians are Caucasians, as are Persians and Kurds and Turks and so forth. Of course, you couls always frther bear it down into Celtic, Germanic, Turkish, Slavic and so forth.

Since white is incorrect, so is Asian, since lots of people who live in Asia aren't of the mongoliod (what an ugly term) race.

In reply to those asking "Why do you care what race someone is?" ... geez, simple curiosity isn't enough? It's not something I'm personally curious about, BTW, I just don't think there has to be something wrong with someone who asks about race. Asking this question doesn't imply race-based prejudice any more than asking someone's country of origin implies nationality-based prejudice or asking someone's gender implies sex-based prejudice.

And, while the use of the term "race" to refer to subpopulations of humanity may not exactly be scientific, it's clearly linguistically acceptable because of common usage. And race isn't an invalid concept because people don't always clearly fall into exactly one race, for the same reason that the existence of mules doesn't invalidate the concept of species.

Asian means all Asians (yellows?), who lives in Asia or elsewhere. It includes Japanese, Mongols, Chinese, Eskimos, Sami, people in SE Asia and emigrants of such origins. It however does not includes Russians who lives in Asia (except certain tribes in Siberia).

Samis/Lapps are a 1000 times more caucasian than mongoloid.

why don't you just ask: what are your origins? more simple , and could get some interesting stories.

My Mother family was Irish. My Father family was English and American Native as in Great Grandmother.
In 1860 to early 1900s if I told someone my Great-Great Grandmother was American Native I would be called a haft breed and ran out of town. Today you said it did not count. It does count.
