Here's a preview of frames 1, 61, and 121 of my Genghis Khan Leaderset. This is the Ancient Times flc.
Any comments/suggestions on backgrounds/clothing for the next 3 ages?

I've noticed that your leaderheads tend to no (or very little clothes) in the Ancient Era, even though the Firaxis ones do. Perhaps Ghengis could do with some armour?

1) During the Stone Age there really wasn't that much armor. The first armor most people think of was worn by the Spartans and Athenians and that was 600-400 BC, so take it back another 3400 years. Even in the art of this time people were mostly represented as naked both in combat and in sporting competitions.Originally posted by zulu9812

2) Its a heck of a lot easier not to make specific armor for this period. I have lots of medieval stuff but not so much Ancient armor, can't use chainmail, and Amazons and Genghis don't really fit the toga catagory.![]()
HeHeHe. I wanted Genghis to look TOUGH. Somebody you DID NOT want to meet on the battlefield, as opposed to the ugly wino look Firaxis went with.Originally posted by Trip

In the .gif, he looks VERY weird. His biceps seem to be pulsating, and although he looks pretty tough, it just isn't realistic. I mean - not all leaders looked good and were extremely fit. Take this into consideration. Here is a picture of a painting I found on the internet, supposedly of Genghis Khan.

The Ancient Age in CivIII isn't just the stone age! You're looking at Iron Age, Bronze Age, etc. CivIII's Middle Age begins with Pikemen and they were't around as a fighting formation until well into the Medievil period. So CivIII's Ancient Age actually spans 5000 years! All that time with no clothes on...Originally posted by GhengisFarb

eh, just give 'em a hat or two, personally I think Genghis is the type of guy to walk around topless. Not to mention I like the eye candy.

Any comments on the animation/pose?
I may be wrong, but I was under the impression that Genghis spent most of his life in a saddle conquering the world. The guy in the picture would probably kill the horse.Originally posted by IXIRandyIXI

Kubai Khan (GK's grandson) would probably fit the picture better as he ruled from court in China, best of my knowledge.
It all looks good, dude, it's been said before but I'll say it again, your leaderheads rock.Originally posted by GhengisFarb

I'm not a history major or anything, but I do believe you're right - Genghis Khan did spend most of his life on a horse conquering Asia. But horses are pretty strong creatures, so I'm sure one could've supported his weight. Anyways, it seems like the Genghis Khan you have here would be fairly heavy, as well.
The new leadermate of the month (August) looks great. I don't know much about Helen of Troy except that she was the wife of some Greek ruler who was kidnapped and was the reason for Greece attacking Troy, wtih the whole Trojan horse thing and yadda yadda...I think. I hope I'm right! So, I don't have any comments, except that it looks good.![]()
GhengisFarb I CANT BELIEVE HOW GREAT YOU ARE IN MAKING THESE LEADERHEADS!!!!!!
I can't wait to put this one in my game!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly. The Mongolian horses were famous for their small size and extreme strength and sturdiness.Originally posted by IXIRandyIXI

Besides, the painting shown was an elder Genghis. Everybody gains weight when their old. Of course, when his conquering was in it's prime he was in his 50's, and that's why Firaxis' version looks the way it does. A weathered old man who's been through hell.
When Genghis was a youngster I'm sure he was pretty damn fit, although maybe not to the point in GhengisFarbs leaderhead. This may be a better Atilla, but maybe I'm just saying that cause I want him to make an one
Never-the-less, Farb is the best leaderhead maker out there and my mentor. I back him in everything he does, simply because his work is amazing. I'm waiting for this leaderhead to come out so I can make a personal mod to play as the Mongols.
Apparently, you didn't read the explanation about the posse, the hornets, and the lump of gravy.Originally posted by sween32

Although "been through hell" would explain the 4" cracks in his skin. They must of formed as the liquid was boiled out of his body!![]()
Thanks for the support! I posted the preview of Helen of Troy and should have both of these sets done by the end of the weekend!![]()
LoL Ghengis.
Though I think a few scars would do him well. He is/was a warrior after all.![]()

That is the best leader-head I've ever seen Ghengis. Period.
I cant wait for August now!
BTW - How much is a subscription to "Play-Leader"?![]()
GenghisFarB, your leaderheads are the best. Too bad, they are banned from civfanatics.![]()
I haven't tried them in game yet (nor have seen the flc files), but the preview gifs are moving too fast IMHO.
Genghis' muscles seems like they could explode at any time...So, i think a little bit slower animation should be used, if the flc files are so fast too.
And again you are the best!![]()

I did some research and discovered that in 1207 Genghis accidently rode over a large hornet nest. He was then stung in the face repeatedly for about 3 hours at which point his 'horde' (similiar to modern day American slang 'posse') was able to free him. Unfortunately, his face swelled up like a lumpy semi-hard ball of gravy. It was from this incident that Firaxis designed the image.
Honest.
I'm not making this up.
Americans don't lie.
Thanks, I had an idea to make a Leadermate Review mod when I get enough Leadermates where the ages would be the Birthday suit age, Lingerie Age, Bikini Age, and Wet T-shirt Age.Originally posted by joespaniel

Thanks, they are too fast, but once you put them in the game, Civ3 uses its own timing and they are MUCH slower.Originally posted by hagen

Now, I wouldn't call that Ghenghis Khan, but it is a cool leader nonetheless. I would make him leader of the Killas civilization.![]()
