I don't have too much time, but as an advisor I could help the apolyton team if needed.

Hey, Guys!
A Multi-Team Demo Game 3 (MTDG3 for short) is forming at CFC. I want to invite the Apolytoneers to form a team around the dedicated players and sign up for it.
To those who dont know what this MTDG thing is, I can say that this is a Civ4 BTS 3.19 game, played on pitboss between few (5-6) teams consisting of 5-10-20 players each where the players discuss, argue if need be and vote or simply decide what the best course for their team is and then a turnplayer (or several of them) play the actual turn. Collective brainstorming, multiple opinions, democratic voting, between-team diplomacy - all those are used to make sure the team develops best and at the end eventually wins the game by one of the conditions.
There will be a mapmaker and admins for the game.
For now we expect at least two teams from civfanatics and one from realmsbeyond.
Here is the original organization thread http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=436398
As an interesting side information I can tell you that our Team Amazon with Captain Sommerswerd had won the last MTDG2 just few months ago with a space ship launched in a tight final race.
So, come on you Apolytoneers, get up, gather yourself and field a team to compete for the glory of Apolyton. Glory and fame awaits all those who join!
your buddy,

Interested.

I could play for the poly team, as long as I can take a backseat role from time to time.
Diplogamer formerly known as LzPrst
Interested.
Trade is the name of the game..

Could be cool to have the best and brightest from Apolyton (especially us diploers) taking on the world.

Yeah, Apolyton forming a team is a must!
Last MTDG was with teams mainly from CFC and only one team from another site. This time this can turns in to real hot inter-site game.

What other sites are you reaching out to?

Realmsbeyond, WePlayCiv, The Polish community (KAC), Civplayers.com, the Spanish community here in Apolyton and CFC of course. CivDuelZone had team last MTDG2, they might be interested too, will write to them
I dont know much about the German Civ4 communities though...
Any other sites you can think of?

Cool

I am in!
we must have the left.over players of dof in this game as well. some interesting stuff is going on in that game.

that hungarian forum is quite abandoned, I was a member some time ago. I can look around if there is an active community, but I don1t know any.

Ah, oh well. I saw some post mentioning the forum on CFC in connection to a mod, so I hoped it was more active.

The idea for this type of game seems to me very good, I would like to participate when it starts.

Great!
Team Apolyton so far:
DNK
OzzyKP
Dick76
mzprox
LzPrst
Hungary (DoF) (whoever that is)
Carthage (DoF)
Carthage & Hungary, please speak up with your non-anonymous accounts. We've got a good nucleus for the team! PLEASE help promote this to other Apolytoners! I really don't want to be in charge of organizing this, so at least help me out!

I am interested.
It has been a while since I was in a demo game. The last was that one at CFC. I was in Team Merlot, which had a novel approach but we succumbed in June 2011.
On the ISDG 2012 team at the heart of CiviLIZation
Merlot fought bravely to the last man. Kudos to King Slaze The Mighty and all of you who stuck to the bitter end with him.

Ooops, I responded from my phone while I was having a vacation 8)
I want to be in this game! Sounds like a great way to also find out how the real good players play
Do we already have Bulgaria and Egypt from DoF on board of this game?
Formerly known as "CyberShy"
Carpe Diem tamen Memento Mori
Do not count on Bulgaria (DoF). he is in the enemy team (we play Civ) I think, so you'll have to play with meand Carthage. but at least Egypt is in our team. regards
Carthage is also more of a WPC player than an apolyton one. I'm registered on (almost) every civ site, but in the recent years i've mostly posted on Apolyton, but I could join other teams if they have less members and need more. We willsee.
Certainly notCarthage is also more of a WPC player than an apolyton oneI feel at home at Apolyton..
I play one game on WPC. Multiple ones over here..
and Gods & Heroes hasn't become the diplo game I hoped it would be.
Trade is the name of the game..

I'm in.. (some of you already knew that![]()

Good! You guys are needed here! Plus, it'll be fun to have Carthage and Egypt working together this time.(and all the rest of us) We need to get the old guard of Toni & deity in on this as well.

Does anyone want to take on the role of captain or co-captain?

Bulgaria is not from WPC either (nice bunch of guys, but having discovered this site just few months ago) and not like feeling much like CFC, but will certainly play for the name of CFC, as there is where I started with DMTGs at all. Also my comrades from Team Amazon are there. And last, I must keep the tradition - after all we were the winners of MTDG2 in CFC, how can I defect to another site... I must do my best to keep the title at home![]()

Hopefully we give you a run for your money.![]()

If you want me, I could be a co-captain..
PS. Has already been decided on the game map?
* Have good experience with a inland sea map, which wraps around on the x axis.
6 teams or so will have quick contact, lots of options where to go, everybody has got at least 3 neighbours, good division of resources..
* of course no tech trading and preferably the +100% tech bonus for laggers

I nominate Robert as captain
I'm afraid I won't have too much time.. also I never played a team game like this. I don't know how well I could take if things wouldnt go as I wanted.. especially in the ecomomics part.. I amost always have a plan I think is the best for research, production, civics.. how to slave and when (always)

I don't have much experience with demo games myself, but there are various ways to manage them I've heard. Generally there is one person, a captain, designated as the turn player. He is the one who actually goes in and plays the turn and is ultimately responsible for the game. Decisions about what to do are sometimes dsicussed/debated and agreed upon by a vote or consensus. I believe other times people are put in charge of various aspects of the game. Someone handles diplomacy, someone else handles military, etc. It is up to us how we want to run this team.
Robert is a very good organizer/leader. He'd be a good choice, and certainly as owner of Apolyton he'd be a natural choice. Does he have time though? I don't know. Is he interested? No idea. Calanthian is interested, so whether he shares responsibilities with Robert or someone else, I say we go with the person who stepped forward.

Never knew someone could take his beliefs so seriously (beside those that make themselves a human-bombs and those who crucify themselves and carry the cross certain distance).
Also never saw so much arrogance from lesser players (those who I know are good dont show much arrogance btw..)
So, there are many sane proposals about game settings and also true fanaticism. (I though they are Reams Beyond and the Civfanatics are completely different site LOL )
So agreeing on settings and map will be a major thing.
