Watched the 2nd episode yesterday. Yes, a bit less cluttered and quite enjoyable. I'm starting to remember more of the plot. The characters are getting more rounded out. SO far so good.
The OT at APOLYTON is like watching the Special Olympics. Certain people try so hard to debate despite their handicaps.

Yes, you do have a slight bit more to learn in the next 2 books. Suffice to say, my favorite character is one of the most loathsome people in the 1st book / season.

Reading this thread was a bad idea, I have enjoyed the books so far, and the wait for the next book has been the primary negative of the series for me. This series sounds impressive so far, and I wish I had HBO to see it, I would think by the time it is out on DVD the next book will almost be out.....maybe

I would pay per view this if I could but also not an option for me I don't think

I don't have time as I've too much video to watch.

Seriously though, I don't feel the least bit guilty as I will buy the DVD's when released. It's highly unlikely I would do so without seeing the series first.

I may be fairly accused as being biased, since I have a personal stake in this issue, but people who download copyrighted media without paying for it without the permission of the producers of said media (whether it be movies, TV, books, music, games) are petty thieves, and all the bleating they do to the contrary makes them look like spoiled, bratty children.

I compensate the artists, they just have to wait a bit.

What I refuse to do is pay $100 a month for a few hours a week of programming.

And more power to you as long as you actually compensate the *artists* and not the parasitic corporate abominations most of them have sold their souls to.

It's the absolute "online viewing = theft" that I object to.

    1) My 600 DVDs would argue otherwise
    2) Online viewing is not illegal in Canada.

That's why I don't pay for TV and haven't for 7-8 years now. I'll buy what I want.

While I might draw the ire of the forum down upon me for interpreting one of Docfeelgood's posts, I see you read it as "I don't pay for CRAP" wheras I'm leaning towards "I don't PAY for crap" as a better fit.

I'm fine with either but I guess I'm more fine with the former, in principle.

I'll take your word for it that you do. But how many people share your ethics? How many people actually purchase a copy of what they have already downloaded? Anyone--ANYONE--who doesn't do so is a thief. It's no different than shoplifting from a Barnes & Noble.

Dude, it is different from shoplifting. That difference might not change the moral conclusion, but you can't actually say it doesn't exist.
