A joint Apolyton Civilization Site and Civilization Fanatics Center exclusive is the finalized front box art for the American and European releases of Civilization IV: Colonization, courtesy game developer Firaxis Games and parent publisher 2K Games. Clicking on a small resolution of one below will yield a higher resolution copy of it.

America Europe
As can be seen, the most notable difference between the two is that the European box emphasizes that CivIV is not required to play given Civ4Col's "stand-alone expansion" status. Another difference is the respective rating continental agencies for games gave the title: in America it's rated for those aged 10 and over while in Europe it's 12 and over.

Did anyone have Ryan Dunn From Jackass FAME? He died in a fiery car crash speeding after being in a bar. And to think, everyone thought he would die doing something stupid-rah

And I'm looking backward!

They look GREAT!
I'm probably very wrong here, but does anyone else see a resemblance between some of the box characters, and Firaxis employees?
I don't know about that. Are you thinking of J. Smith ? I just can't wait for the polycast to come out![]()

Would they have to replicate both American and European MAC as with the apparently preferred production of PC WINDOWS?

That would be a 2K decision ultimately. Given at least in part how poorly the Warlords expansion for CivIV Mac port sold, BtS has not been ported. They may be waiting and seeing how well the PC release sells first before deciding to port to Mac, but even then maybe not.Originally posted by JCP

Now with e.g. Parallels software, Mac gamers may be able to get Civ4Col to work on their computer as I have read has been done with BtS. That may also be part of 2K's thinking, but that's only speculation on my part.

Strictly speaking, 2KGames did not make the Mac port of Civ4/Warlords, but Aspyr Games. Certainly 2KGames had to approve it being made, but I suspect Aspyr had more to do with deciding not to do BtS than 2KGames.
It's entirely possible they could decide to do Col, deciding it has a bigger user base, but it would probably be more work for them also...

Indeed. My personal feeling is that Civ4Col will not be ported to the Mac, but I would be happy to be proven wrong in this case. It's entirely possible they could decide to do Col, deciding it has a bigger user base, but it would probably be more work for them also...

Actually, it seemed to me that the American version would be more likely to give it a more "adult" rating due to tobacco.
Perhaps the Euros are more worried about the effects of glorifying genocide, slavery, and colonial wars?
