I'd take Warner in a heartbeat. McNabb is probably preferable to Brunell, assuming he continues out his career in the manner I'd expect.

More interesting question:
If you HAVE to vote one of these two into the HoF, and not both, who do you vote in:
McNair, Steve
Warner, Kurt
Same question:
McNabb, Donovan
Brunell, Mark

Agreed. McNabb is the only one that should have a chance.
Kurt Warner was the obvious beneficiary of Marshall Faulk. It's a shame that Faulk isn't considered to be among the three or four greatest running backs ever, because he definitely is."You're the biggest user of hindsight that I've ever known. Kurt Warner, considering his struggle to even be involved, and then what he did with the opportunity once he got it, would get my vote over the others mentioned.
You can have a great RB, but if all the defense has to do his shadow him, it's going to be a long day. Warner had WR's, and could get the ball to them.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

What does his struggle have to do with HoF? He had, what, 3 good seasons with St Louis? What did he do after that? Did he maintain that excellence? No. Therefore not a HoF candidate IMO.Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety. - Ben Franklin

I didn't say he was. I said I like him better than the others.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

None of the above is not an option. I specifically said IF YOU MUST CHOOSE ONE because the idea is to show the difference between a QB who had a few great years and not much else, and a QB that had a lot of above-average years.<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.

McNabb over any of those other 3, easy.
Even with a SB win, I don't think Warner deserves it. I would give it to McNair over Warner in a must-vote scenatio.
Brunell?

Quick, who has more TD passes? Brunell or McNair?"You're the biggest user of hindsight that I've ever known. Your favorite team, in any sport, is the one that just won. If you were a woman, you'd likely be a slut." - Slowwhand, to Imran

Didn't Warner win the MVP two of his three years in Stl?
Din't he win a Super Bowl there?
For his short time of excellence, there was nobody better. Sounds like a HoF RB from the Bears.Founder of The Glory of War, CHAMPIONS OF APOLYTON!!!

Warner is perceived as a "system QB" and with his very average results in NY and Arizona, his pedigree IMHO falls short.
Sayers had a career of unstinting excellence cut short by injury. Very different scenario.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

His results with NY and 'Zona, though, were after he began his decline, due to injuries on this thumb and relatively fragile nature (see 2002 season with the Rams).Originally posted by -Jrabbit

And with even those below average seasons, we tend to forget that Kurt Warner has the 3rd highest QB rating of all time in a career with 93.2, only behind Steve Young and Peyton Manning. And a hair above Tom Brady.Last edited by Imran Siddiqui; April 18, 2008, 11:21.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. Judging by your tone, I assume it's Brunell. Brunell has over 31K total yards, 3 Pro Bowl selections, and a career passer rating of 84.2. Nice, but not dominant. Clearly a cut below the top players of his era. As to whether he's above or below McNair in the pecking order, the fact that both fall short of HOF credentials makes it a moot question.Originally posted by Jaguar

I'm sure Kurt would tell you that injuries are not an excuse. Toughness is a big part of what NFL players are judged on. Warner's history of injuries and fumbles (which IIRC are not reflected in QB ratings) pulls him down. He had a few great seasons when surrounded by awesome skill position players. But his later mediocrity resulted in his being benched for untested rookies in both NY and AZ. Not the most glowing part of his resume.Originally posted by Imran Siddiqui

Well, to be fair, they were Top 5 draft pick rookies, where Warner was hired to mentor the picks and allow them to gradually take over the job.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another.
