Considering - but the one night a week seems plenty for now.

I'm looking to see if anyone would be interested in starting up yet another diplomacygame. What I am looking for specifically is people who would prefer to play saturdays or sundays. I would like to see something like 7 players, possibly a few more, so if you are interested post here and we will process your application with extreme prejudice (kidding).
As there are already 2 other diplogames running that are tying up a lot of our regular players I would like very much to recruit some fresh blood, of course any veteran that would like to join is of course most welcome.
So. If you would be interested, please post so here and we can work out the specifics as to timeslot and game settings.

Try to recruit Raz. He is very, very picky, but he is good if you can convince him to play.

I'll play.

Great. That's one. Two with me
I'm gonna PM Raz and ask, but i remember the startup for hotw7 and he is one slippery duck
NVP, I assume you're familiar with diplogames?

Lz for a change might be interesting to try one of the scenarios (in the barbarian scenario can you have one person play the barbarians and others play the civs that might be highly interesting)
A university faculty is 500 egoists with a common parking problem

A scenario would be fun. Or even a real map (world or europe are always good). The barbarian scenario though... I don't think that'd make for a good diplogame. Barbarians aren't very diplomatic![]()

Since rivaling parties all ways consider the other party to be Barbarians I dare to doubt that.
I loved the civ1 barbarians! You could buy them out if they appeared in front of one of my non-defended cities
Clearly superior diplomats!![]()

I'd be interested but, have no interest if the game is a scenario or predetermined map.. No tech trading either. Other than that I am pretty open.

I'd like to give this a try, too. I'm pretty openon settings, this being my first with these games![]()
But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

I am Ok with no tech trading - in fact - I think that would make for an interesting game - but can we then run the game on normal speed. That should balance it out a bit.
And Mali please.![]()

I thought Marathon was standard for diplo - mormal seems... well like a normal game![]()

Tech trading accelerates a game much quicker than with no tech trading.
I'm a self proclamed opponent of tech trading. Basicly, everyone B-Lines to Alphabet, and from there it is just a tech swap meet.
Since it is another option, most people see it as making the game more dynamic. The reality (IMO) is that it dumbs down the importance of choosing a tech path, and investing in tech.
Just my 2 cents.![]()
Anyway, I might be interested in joining up for HOTW 10, regardless of tech trading. What exact day and time are we thinking of making it?

I better wait till after my overseas trip before committing toanother big game. I'll be back in late June and ready to play then
Well, maybe HOTW11![]()

The "History of the World" tag is growing old. After 10 we need a new name
HOTW 6 was officially titled History of Terra 1
I suggest that after HOTW10 we get HOT2, Tales From Terra may be even better
Other map types then Terra may be interesting as well, huge archipello maps must be interesting, perhaps we can create one that connects all land masses to each other by small seas that can be crossed by galleys already.

If writing civ histories is causing people not to join we could always do a "diplo-lite" game where story writing is kept to a minimum.
BTW - how do civs write their histories before they discover writing?
PS - I'd prefer Sunday-Thurs night USA Eastern as I play regular games Friday and Saturday night.

HEY!!!!!
Don't change the "History of the World," name! Its good because you don't necessarily have to play on a Terra map, originally most diplogames were played on Earth maps. Besides that I thought of the name.
Don't change HOTW.
Peace

That's what people used to be very good at before writing stories.
We lost that because write everything down.

I would suggest not picking empires.
People should get used to playing unusual choices.

I may as well put my name down... I'm sure I'll last longer than lz anyway![]()

Deity????

I like kb's idea of not choosing empires? Or alternatively - pick civs with a common theme - as in all Asian, or all European, or all aggressive, and assign them randomly before the game starts.

And oh yes - I also agree with Capo - keep the HOTW name.![]()
