Turn 0 --> TheThirdJesus

ENGLISH NOMADS AND TRIBES SETTLE THE ENGLISH PENINSULA
By 4000 BC there were settlements teeming with life and energy all over the english peninsula. The cold to temperate conditions had proved ideal for the nomads and they settled in their thousands after a life of raiding and movement across the wilderness.
Each city is ruled by the chief of the tribe that settled it, although the winds of change are already billowing. The position of chieftan has already become heriditary in most cities and they now struggle for power and dominance over the others as the chief kings consolidate their holdings.
Although they have yet to meet any civilisations the english are curious about any possible neighbours and are scouring the lands nearby for anyone else that they might meet.
With the explorers go signed documents details the consent of all the chief kings to a peace between any new found civilisaions.

Okay, sorry guys but i don't quit understand how to play. I installed the dutcheese mod, and was able to start a pbem game with it, but i don't know how to join in this game. Do i just put in the civs, names, and e-mails of the other people at that one menu and launch the game and take my first turn? Btw i got the turn thirdjesus sent me, but i don't exactly know what to do with it. Sorry for slowing the game down.

You don't need to start anything at all. When you receive the game all you need to do is double click on the file (it will auto load CTP and the game), play your turn, and then mail it to the next guy following the instructions on screen.
You don't need to set anything up at all i have done that because i started it.
Hope this helps!
Yeah that helps but i won't be able to continue in the game. For whatever reason my computer's been crashing all the time lately, and i'm having problems just getting on the internet. So you should just take me of this game, or replace me with someone else. Sorry, i'll try to play in a different pbem game in a couple weeks. So once again sorry for slowing the game down.

Bummer
Third Jesus... you need to replay your turn and attach the AI to Jenkins.
If you wish to rejoin at any time its easy okay
***
Type ' to open the chat window. Then you type /attach # where # is the number of the player to attach an AI to. To put the player back to human you type /detach # in the chat window.

In order Jenkins is Player 3.
Alrighty, I assume I send the turn to finrod.

Yep thats right, though ensure you do the following:
Replay your turn, do the attach Ai proceedure to player 3, then i will know the next e-mail you produce will go to finrod.
Cheers
Gentlemen,
I've received the game from Third. Unfortunately, until the new patch comes out, as I've been telling Baston, I'm stuck.
As soon as the patch arrives, I will immediately play my turn and send it along.
Finrod
gack, that sux....

Well it should be out real soon - so the wait shouldn't be too long![]()

Patch is here;
See main topic in the CTP - Macintosh Forum (just posted it).
Hi all! I'm interested in joining one of these pbem games. I just installed the 1.2b patch and downloaded the Ducheese scenario pack. Should I just replace the three files that it says to replace in the CTP folder? Also, I'm not sure how pbem works. If you need more players could you plug me into one of these games.
If so, my e-mail is:
gulman@columbus.rr.com
and I'll play the Germans.
Thanks!

Both games have just started, if you are not fussed what nationality you play i can insert you into either, but from memory germany was not one of the civ's chosen.
What game would like to be in? Do you have to play as the germans -- i.e. a second choice civ?
Greetings. I wish to join a PBeM game. I have the 1.1b patch and Dutchesse installed. In a new game my civilization preferences are Turkish and Scotish. Otherwise, I am happy with whatever is available.
I am in the PBeM game 3 but if there is also a slot in this game I will play any civ available.
So what's the current state of this game? It seems to be dead in the water for the time being. I can fill in for someone. Let me know.
Ash

We are waiting on Finrod - he has been having some major problems...

Good news is though i got his turn so the game is back on track now![]()
Gentlemen,
I apologize for the delays caused by my interminable technical difficulties. It was getting absolutely ridiculous...
At any rate, the Hebrew people are happily settled and have already become a mighty force to be reckoned with, despite the incredibly rough terrain they had to deal with in forging their new home.
Tim

It seems that the Hebrews always struggle wherever they go or whatever they do... perhaps it could be your torah?
"The hellhole of dutcheese"
Gentlemen,
I must again apologize for my slowness. Brief explanation as follows: whenever I download the game, my Mac always sees the file as a text file. I've tried various solutions to this, including using different programs to download the file, but to no avail.
The only solution I've been able to use is extremely ironic. If I download the file on my work PC (windows!) and take it home on a floppy, then my PC Exchange program translates it to a CTP file. So, whenever it comes to me, I have to download the game at work, take it home and play my turn and then send it on. When a game comes to me on a weekend, I'm stuck until Monday. If anyone has another possible solution to this, I'll be glad to try it.
In the meantime, a Hebrew transport loaded down with settlers has disappeared somewhere off the English coastline. While there is no proof as yet that the English had anything to do with the disappearance, an investigation has been launched...
Finrod
I emailed Fin a file typer that should solve his problem.
Ash

The english have no knowledge of the dissapearance of the ship, and cordially offer to return some of the rescued survivors found washed up on english shores.
They were treated well and provision has been made for the people to return to Israel.
The english are going through a turbulent time at present with the tribe cheifs beginning to submit to a theocratic rule of the priestly class. Gaining the upper hand in the rule of the state the Druids of england are rapidly forming to take control of England.
Prolonged missionary activity is planned shortly after to spread the faith of the druids.
(Note: Problem fixed. Thanks, Ash.)
The Hebrew people appreciate the efforts of the English in assisting with this disaster.
Israel, also, is going through a turbulent time as we prepare for the crowning of our new king.
However, much concern has been expressed about the English plans to dispatch missionaries. As you know, the Hebrew faith is a primary element of our culture. Any attempts to sway our people toward another religion would not be viewed favorably.
Finrod

The english respect the Jewish faith greatly. The survivors of the shipwreck made a handful of english converts when the stayed. They were even allowed the priviledge of their own synagogue in London, those who stayed.
The Druids have stated that they plan no missionary activities within the already totally Jewish state of Israel. This would be deemed pointless and obviously agressive. The English do not wish to be seen in this light except when dealing with heathens (enemy civilisations and AI controlled).
The consider the jewish faith interesting and would perhaps welcome a more formal exchange of knowledge once embassies are set up.
Perhaps the Israeli's would also enjoy a theocratic state?
There are definitely Orthodox elements within the Israeli state that are extremely interested in a theocratic government. Whether they can persuade the soon-to-be-king to change to their government of choice remains to be seen.
Diplomatic ties will be welcomed and will no doubt be established as soon as another ship can be built...
