Europa Universalis/Victoria/Hearts of Iron?

Hey all,
Well my gaming collection has stagnated for quite awhile now since i'm rather picky but needing something extra to play rather then just multiplayer age of empires and smac whilst i wait for Disgaea 2 to come out.
Prefer strategy (don't mind if it's rts, tbs, universal or squad tactical) or rpg however if theres a beat em up or football game really worth playing aswell i'll give them a shot.
Can be for any of these snes (retro!), GBA, PS, PS2 or the PC.
If it's for the PC however keep in mind that the graphics card for this machine is .... well close to nonexistant so anything requiring a powerful one for 3D graphics probably won't run.
I've got a fair few of the classics and well known stuff like SoM, BoF, the FF's (inc, tactics), shining force, tactics ogre, Disgaea, Phantom brave, RoN, empire earth, age of mythology, Pro Evo, tekkens, DoA etc.
Any suggestions ?
Cheers

Europa Universalis/Victoria/Hearts of Iron?
I changed my signature
Space Rangers 2.

Tropico is quite fun, but does not have that much replayability.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).
Galciv?

Football Manager. 2006 should be out.

Got chrono trigger and Gal Civ. I've played victoria, keep hearing about europa but never got around to seeing what that's like. Space Rangers 2 looks interesting aswell (kinda imperium galacticaish?)
Football manager games urgh i hate spending so long building a 5 star team to watch them lose to the local pub team 4-0 and not just once but repetitively, feels way too much like luck and im not a lucky person lol.

Heroes of Might and Magic 3. However I would strongly recommend Europa Universalis II. It has tons of replayability and excellent user made mods.

Could be almost anything given those broad parameters. How about Neverwinter Nights?![]()
If you like western themed game, you should try out Desperados... kinda like Commandos, except it's harder and much more fun
It's a decent game, but it does take some time before it gets fun, as it's not much fun before you get to know the gameOriginally posted by Skanky Burns

Getting to know the game was quite easy (it has a tutorial, too), but there are not that many valid strategies to choose from. That said, I haven't even tried tourism yet.

I find tourism works quite well, actually. If you pick some tourism-based traits, you can get a powerful economy up and running in no time.
It's a great game. Great music. "Please, you can not build that here."

Tropico is a mediocre game. Has some fun parts, but they wear off pretty quickly.

Great game, perhaps a bit easy, but fun to play through at least once.
Eschewing obfuscation and transcending conformity since 1982. Embrace the flux.

That front mission looks decent, having trouble trying to patch the japanese version to translate though.
I've seen tropico around in the 2 for 1 section of some shops since its platinum collection, is there anything to set it apart from other civ games though ? I find the same as UR that most of them are fun to play for a few hours before they become abit dull.

You ever play Lemmings? They have released a new version for PSP and it reminded me how much fun I had playing the Mac version in college. It was definetly released on the PC and SNES as well.
Don't get the 3D version though, that was awful. The classic 2D versions though are great fun.
Even if you don't want to actually play, but jsut release a little stress it was good. Let the screen fill up with the cute little buggers, then click the Nuke button. They say, 'Oh No!' cower in fear, and then all blow up.
Ah, good times...

Yeah i've still got Lemmings and worms was also great for the little "oh nos" "traitor!" and so forth aswell
Anybody know any more squad tbs stuff like that front mission ? that looks right up my street for boosting my PS/GBA collection and at 0.99p on ebay can't exactly go wrong for Front mission 3

If you don't mind playing old games for squad TBS you can't do better than the original X-Com.
If you wanted a slightly newer game the Jagged Alliance series is very good, albeit very mean.![]()

I've played the jagged alliance games, x-com sounds familiar i think i've played the ROM for that.
just snapped up eternal eyes for 1p![]()

What have I enjoyed recently?
X-com: Enemy Unknown, Colonization for Windows and Ur-Quan Masters (XP fan remake of Star Control 2. Beware, 400MB download at about 200kbs). .
If you like your RPG then Planescape: Torment is surely worth a spin. Make sure and get the 2CD version, not the 4 and also be sure to apply the bug squishing fan-patch.
These are all great games but none of them are simple games. Read the manual, save yourself a little grief and expect to be absolutely brutally slaughtered the first time you play![]()

The cake is NOT a lie. It's so delicious and moist.
The Weighted Companion Cube is cheating on you, that slut.

How fortunate that the download I was referring to was freeware as the fan community acquired the rights.
