How many players you looking for?
Well, the more the better.
But I understand that more players means a slower game and it increases the chances of drops or pauses do to rl issues. 7 is a nice number, but there can also be some AI's (I'd prefer aggresive)
I'd leave those decisions to the more experienced PBEMers.

Which gets me thinkning that we should have a sub forum for setting up PBEM's.

Im open as to formats, map types etc. I do prefer raging barbs just to keep us on our toes, I'm PMing a guy who sent me a PM to play pbems, maybe that'll make us four...

It appears I'm that guy, aah Paddy and Grandpa Troll, a few old faces. I've only got one other PBEM going so I'd be keen to try a different one out.
Alright, sugested playing order (from time zones)
Paddy -> Mickeyj -> Grandpa Troll or NicodaMax (I think we're both UTC-4 now)

Has anybody tried scenario PBEM's yet. Can they be done? I haven't even looked into that part of the game yet.

Posted in the Multiplaying thread, about a medieval Europe (1092 AD) mod which I think would be great also as a PBEM:

I'm going to see if I can set it up as a PBEM game when I get home from work (8 hours from now, dam it!) or some of you more experienced fellows, who get home earlier too, could try it

hmmm... only 6 more hours to go... need to tell your boss of international crisis you need to sort out
I tried a few mods last night - one in particular Europa Europa (civfanatics) looks great, and it needs to be installed to run this.
I also tried to set one up as a PBEM and it worked fine.
I think we try the one Nicoda has recommended above. If everybody agrees the first step would be to download the mod and check they can get it working in SP.
Once that's done choose a CIV (I'd be keen to try bringing down the big powers) and away we go!
