I believe it's Archipelago...which to me is a variant of islands...just bigger ones

yep it is archipelago. I played it once in SP and a couple times online.
I quite like teh idea of the requirements for ships in order to keep expanding. This means, you'll be able to fit a couple of cities on your own and perhaps neighbouring island. Eventually you begin to meet other nations and it becomes a race to build ships and colonize other islands in order to get the benefits of their resources. In teh later game, I imagine the requirements of navies to increase and hence the diversity of the game.

Not got my turn yet but for my other games, I received a save file from someone whom had and as such I had to upgrade
After I have since installed the 1.09 patch. When it comes to part where I have to input my password and after I do, then click ok, nothing happens. I can keep clicking ok and ditto..nothing changes. If I click cancel, password screen goes away and then initialization completes, screen goes black a sec and I am back to Main Menu!
How do I resolve this? Want to make sure things work before I get turn for this game! ThanksComment

it removed all my settings, but otherwise things work fine. in fact, it now even works on my travel notebook
as for the load problems: i had this a few times. mostly i went ok, when i clicked the button at a different spot. but twice i had to restart the game (and PC to be sure), reload the round and try again. this was before the patch. no savegame arrived since...- Artificial Intelligence usually beats real stupidity
