Replayed. Sorry about the rule, but I did just plain forget. Of course, this time around I managed to use two scout patrols to repel Flubber's entire invasion. I hope that's not too big of a deal?

I am hoping my troop s put up a stiffer resistence than that

.

I hated essentially causing everyone else to have to replay the turn, but I had made a number of decisions based on that rule and your chopper attack was very successful in taking out units that would be much more difficult to kill otherwise.

Hi guys, I can finally do turns at home and have access to poly. Plus my leaving is delayed till the next Wednesday/Thursday, so I can do a few turns more. I'm going straight to England and am currently thinking if there's any way for me to continue the game down there.

If you have a computer wherever you go, you should be golden. Get a portable disk drive and install the game on it and bring that with the CD wherever you go. It saves having to install it on other people's computers

Chancellor flubber whacked the display screen again. The yearly data had seemed out of whack. Far too many of the Peacekeeping Expeditionary Force were listed as KIA or MIA. It was beyond all reasonable projections.. The new data was expected shortly and the chancellor fervently hoped that the results would look better--

" We also viewed that vid in the planning. The joint chiefs felt that, while the paratroops would be vulnerable, the ability to resupply and reinforce by multiple methods should distinguish this from its namesake in the Second Great Earthwar. I only hope they are right. The projections were that denial of those production facilities would cripple the UN war effort. Most of those troops only need to hold on until the new year but they are so lightly armed that I fear for them

Wanted to ask the same. Good news is, I'm staying in Poland probably till Monday (that's not a good news for me, but still), and I probably will get a SMAX CD, but I'd still like to do a few turns before I leave.

Bases deleted, game conceded without waiting for anyone else now. Password is "military". Theres one last base that I didn't have the movement points to get, if someone wants to finish it off.

wow-- unexpected . .. I thought for sure you would look to gas the crap out of me and try to repair relations with Kirov and go 2 vs 1 if I could manage to finish fosse.

With the threat you pose to me eliminated, I can refocus back to economy and industry and should out-distance Kirov unless there are surprises of which I am unaware.

I actually had been looking at what invading you, senethro, would entail and frankly I didn't like my options at present. You would largely have been left alone, for a while anyway.

Yes, crossing the water between us was not going to be an easy task, especially without my ally. I could have thrown gassies at your bases and choppers at your crawlers but its a losing strategy, not a winning one. It would have kept me alive longer, nothing else.

Fairly or unfairly, I lay part of the blame for your current air power on Kirov.

I see it as only proper that now he should have to deal with you.

Very tough-- Transports would not make it and our land link was a deathtrap for years so the only real way in was by airdrop

Ya I was actually trying to plan to get every crawler near you under interceptor cover but instead I think I would have tried to stack them with cheap ground troops.

My alternate plan for other areas was to empty the bases and retreat crawlers to make your trip for good targets tougher

I agree in the circumstances even though plinking Fosse's crawlers was a big part of my attack plan

Well I stole HEC from you

-- and IIRC I would have acquired airpower before anyone else did anyway once I got HEC that way. But all my deals with Kirov were very fair in that we both got to techs much faster.

Part of the fault there goes to Kirov and my very real fear of you. Because of the threat you posed, kirov felt he needed airpower faster and I was the route to that. I also allowed him the cyborg factory guaranteed as part of the deal

Overall the diplomacy with your Spartans in this one was quite interesting. I usually go with a more subtle approach but yours was probably a necessary avenue when you ahve the Spartans in a game where there is no AI to subjugate

Wellhe will have a very difficult time without you. I have no desire or need to make war on kirov but unless fosse pulled a stunning reversal of fortune , I should have a faction that should be able to outstrip kirov technologically and economically-- I'll assess it better when I get the turn

Oh and senethro -- was that rover south of the monsoon jungle alone? I had spotted one near my isthumus and wondered how many more there were

Guys, I think it's better we stopped the game. I wanted to write an RP post, but unfortunately haven't got any time as I've been on the drinking spree with my pals for 4 days and in 5 hours I'm gonna hit the road to England (as a hitchhiker, which makes the hangover somewhat painful).

I can forward the turn in a few days, but i think I'd better concede to Flubber's rule.

Without Senethro in game, I don't see any other possibility. Without me, Fosse is left in the lurch all the more.

I'd like to thank everyone for the game, I learned quite a few things, some of them quite obvious but apparently I forgot about them. Special thanks to Senethro who by attacking me prevented other invasion in another game.

I learned a few days ago that I'm not gonna have direct access to the Net from my home, which leaves only internet cafes. I'll try to reach you in a week (it's a bit of a problem as I can't afford a ferry from Calais to Dover, so without a little help from a fellow trailer driver I won't reach Birmingham too soon). Sorry if I don't give any sign for a longer time - you naver know what happens when you hitchhike.

well-- I guess I'll just have to accept the concession. The reality is that fosse would have difficulty surviving very many more turns unless I have missed some major issues.

That left me contemplating an interesting fight since I assumed snethro and kirov would make a marriage of necessity. But with senethhro conceding, I agree that the cause is hopeless. I would very quickly jump some drop colonies into the former senethro lands to take advantage of his terraforming and to create a buffer zone such that Kirov could never threaten my core.

I'm not saying that I didn't hope/expect to win but given my difficulty in attacking you immediately, I thought an alliance of you two could at least attempt to compete. I was probably still in the mindset of a couple of turns earlier though . Prior to your attack on Kirov, I had been thinking that if I took out one player, the inevitable team up would be difficult to counter. But two things happened

1. Your war did damage to you both. Kirov lost some bases and had to sell facilities while you lost less but did lose a fair piece of your military ( and saw your only real path to victory thwarted)

2.My conquest of fosse went much quicker than I thought it would. If he had done things like moving a couple of formers and crawlers into each base it would have taken much longer ( as it was, a scout drop troop took EMPTY bases). As governor he knew I didn't have a lot of good attacking ground troops so this surprised me.

Even with those two factors, I looked back at my last turn and I still see you with a large and capable military that could cause me severe damage if I wasn't very vigilent. Your rover near my back door arrived undetected until last turn, also giving me pause as to where you could show up. You would likely have an ally that still could be a research engine and who I would not be in a position to attack quickly either-- If you two shared all tech you would only be a tech or two behind-- so it wasn't such a dominant position that victory was totally certain.

However I do agree, upon examining everything , that you two were in a hard way. I could probably out-tech you as a duo, subject to defending against gas attacks. Also if I could eliminate fosse quickly, his terraformed lands would be very handy. If I didn't try to push my luck or make any mistakes, I do think its a winning position.

So I understand the conceding even though in your shoes I probably would have battled on for a few more turns.If Kirov gifted you enviro ec and doc ini, you could get better income and faster boats and some elite drop troops could be a real pain in the behind
