If Georgia was in the SEC before the 50s, it was Sinkwich. If not, then I'm not sure.

say what you want but the cfl is a more open high scoring and entertaining brand of football then the nfl. Plus it actully has a history unlike the nfl.CFL!

edit-im just wondering, have you ever actually seen a cfll game?

CFL has inferior athletes as well. I'd rather see the best athletes. That makes the game more entertaining.
NFL has no history. Suuuure... go smoke some more of that wacky weed.

comparativlly they grey cup has been awarded for over a hundred years, and most off the teams in the cfl are the oldest pro sports teams in north americaNFL has no history . Suuuure... go smoke some more of that wacky weed.

I've seen a few. Interesting and all, but so is Arena Football. Yet, I'd still rather see the NFL. I'm interesting the best players, playing the best damned football (look at last year's SuperBowl in the 2nd half). Sometimes I think some college football games have more talent than CFL or Arena League games (I'm thinking like Miami v. Florida State, etc).

So that means that George Halas and Vince Lombardi never existed? And Red Grange (the Galloping Ghost), Gayle Sayers, Jim Brown never were running backs in the league? Otto Graham, Johnny Unitas, and Joe Namath never threw the ball around the gridiron?
Strange that no history thing.

What, by 10 or so more years? 1909 is when the Grey Cup was first given out. Before that it was a bunch of clubs putzing around.
maby, but personally i would rather watch inferior players play a more exciting game then the best playing with boring rules
If they were boring rules, perhaps you'd be right. Unfortunetly for you, you are dead wrong. I'd rather watch an exciting game with the best players than a slightly more exciting game (PERHAPS! Just because there is more scoring doesn't mean it is more exciting!) with inferior players.
Of course if that was the case, then you'd be watching more junior hockey and minor league hockey than the NHL the last 10 years or so.
an exeption, not rule
For Superbowls? Perhaps. But it's fast become the rule. The 1999 Superbowl was close. The 2001 Superbowl was close. With parity more Superbowls have been closer.
However, you've ALWAYS had exciting games in the playoffs. Usually during the Conference Championship games.

i think it's a bit more then slightlly more exiting, in the cfl games are VERY rarly over before the three minute warning, in the nfl many are over before halftime.slightly more exciting game

Sinkwich in 1942 is dead on, Imran. Georgia was a charter member, and the first year of SEC competition was 1933.
Btw, that Georgia team also had Charley Trippi and went 11-1 for the national title. Their only loss was to Auburn by two touchdowns.![]()

Actually no. Only the Toronto and Hamilton were founded before 1909.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_Football_League
Hamilton was founded in 1869
Montreal had the Alouettes from 1946 to 1981, when they folded. Then Montreal had a new team from 1982-87. The current Alouettes moved from Baltimore (when the CFL tried to move to the US and failed miserably in 1995).
Ottawa was founded in 2002. The Rough Riders folded back in 1996.
Toronto was founded in 1873.
BC was founded in 1954.
Calgary was founded in 1935.
Edmonton was founded in 1949. Though other Edmonton Eskimo teams were around from 1895-1923 and 1929-1939.
Saskatchewan was founded in 1910.
Winnipeg was founded in 1936.
Do you want to try again?

I doubt that. I'm on the CFL site and 2004 season had PLENTY of blowouts. In fact, it was very rare to see the week where 1 game, out of the 4 played every week (ie, 25% of games every week), wasn't a blowout!
http://www.cfl.ca/CFLSchedules04/home.html
I think CFL games are, frankly, less exciting. Too much offense, not enough defense. The 3 downs make it more boring, IMO (reduces the strategic consequences of one more down). Give me the NFL any time for exciting football. Give me great defensive play and tense games, such as the Pittsburgh - Jets game last week. What a Hell of a game (though the ending wasn't as I'd like it)!
