Reasons to Band with CPU and go against the Drones:
* This is a Democracy game. It is all about interacting with other players both in your own team and with other teams in the game. To let a player who runs his faction as a PBEM win is just wrong.
* Honour. How much do you get if you pick on someone only when you have the support of the largest faction in the game? A faction that could arguably hold its own against the combined forces of every other faction. None, I hear you say? Correct.
* A win that will earn the Hive respect. The Hive wants to win the game, yes. But there is no glory in winning by "being picked by Buster" as the faction he wanted to coop-win with.
* Making an interesting game. Remove CPU and this game will be very dull indeed - not just for CPU players but for everyone who isn't Buster. Victory won't be assured, but if achieved will be all the sweeter.
* Roleplaying. Our active roleplaying will suddenly and almost totally be removed should we cease to exist.


Reasons for the Hive to attack CPU instead:
* You win a coop with Buster, assuming he allows you to remain in the game.
* You don't put yourself at much risk by warring against a faction facing this sudden onslaught.



Tass: Don't close this thread. This could very well decide the fate of the rest of this ACDG, and while tempers may get aroused slightly this is a conversation that needs to take place.

I would like to state that the Hive and the Drone have been in peaceful co-operation for at least 30 turns and this invasion was planned together that far back. The Hive or the Drone can hardly be said to be a superpower that time, with both lagging behind in technology.

I don't see any proof that Foreman Buster is a solo-act. (If there is proof submitted, then I will admit my error).

However, as stated by Comrade Vev, we have been in peaceful cooperation with the Drones and have proven to be a loyal ally. Do we wish to be the Drones servant? No. The Hive is an autonomous state with it's own agenda.

I respect all of you Apolytoners out there. But this is a game, and as such, we are playing it.

Yes. However, the PTWDG was so unbelievably nasty during the Vox-GS war and the initial stages of the gangbang war on RP Team that it makes the ACDG look like an innocent kindergarten classroom by comparison.

I had my vote on key polls, e.g. first SP, research pact with Hive, permapact/joint-victory with Hive. On less formal matters, I was the one who proposed we bug out of Uni territory before detection, so we could infiltrate unopposed.

A lot of my participation (and other's) is asking stuff and learning from Buster, which should not be discounted.

We had some experienced players who were more involved earlier in the game. Just because they haven't been lately doesn't mean they couldn't start speaking up tomorrow.

I joined late and have not always had time to get in on the details of formers, etc., so I'm not saying Buster has not been the sina qua non-- but I feel I'm part of the team.

Even that sina qua non thing (I like pretentious Latin once in a while) no longer applies at this stage. IMHO, we'd still have our joint victory if Buster had to leave and I started playing the turns.

You see now why I started the trash talking thread? There's a little "too late bye bye" in there.

Edit: Most importantly, I named a city (the thing I'm most proud of). "Labor's Love Lost" or L3 for short.
