2143 to Gaians
Again, it is reported that the Nautilus secret project, The Weather Paradigm, is nearing a major breakthrough!
2142 passed to President Net Warrior.
I've only experienced pop-up information on the AI's progress on secret projects. I don't think any reports are given on human player's progress.

Turn to jtsisyoda.
To Rubin.
I might not be able to play much this weekend. I can probably do a turn Sunday night, though.

Corporate Security, M.Y. 2143.605: It is now official that the Nautilus base of Port Svensgaard has surprisingly built The Command Nexus. Captain Ulrik Svensgaard beat the Believers and the Hive to this--albeit, Svensgaard may not currently benefit as much from the ability to recruit superior landbased troops.
Svensgaard also initiated the construction of The Merchant Exchange--much to the regret of CEO Rubin.
The Hive and the Lord's Believers have both cancelled their construction of The command Nexus and are now redirecting their efforts toward a new goal, The Merchant Exchange.
Unsurprisingly, Captain Svensgaard convened the Planetary Council. His agenda: Elect Planetary Governor! Sister Miriam Godwinson and Master Yoda are the two candidates.
Captain Svensgaard: 27 votes for Sister Miriam
Chairman Yang: 20 votes for Sister Miriam
Sister Miriam: 43 votes for herself
CEO Rubin: 15 votes for Sister Miriam
President Net Warrior: 36 votes (undecided)
Lord Chip: 24 votes (undecided)
Master Yoda: 54 votes (undecided)
Turn 2143 passed to President Net Warrior.

Very nice broadcast, Chip. And the University voting for Sister Miriam... hilarious finale, jtsisyoda!

I had some reload problems. I tried to zoom and erase to a forest expansion message and the game froze up. I reloaded and tried it again, and I'll be darned if it didn't freeze up a 2nd time. Later on I saved the turn and completed it a little later. When I reloaded again the reload message didn't appear. .....go and figure.... none the less I figured I'd notify you all.

I, too, had problems. Mine was a case of the fingers moving faster than the brain, rather than something wrong with the program. I saved and exited before opening the turn. I re-opened the turn, got both a warning about my action and Net Warrior's double reload, played the turn and sent it on.
Thanks for your patience.
I'm curious though, will Yoda get both sets of warnings, or just mine?
2145 to Rubin.
Sorry, I don't pay much attention to the reload warnings. Perhaps I'm too trusting.![]()

The messages during my turn were quite, hmm, inaccurate, but I think everything is as it is supposed to be.

Congratulations to Master Yoda! I cannot say that I do not envy what you have just pulled through

Gentlemen:
I have unknowingly committed an illegal act. As I explained to Yoda in a private post last turn, I attempted to downgrade a pact to a truce. Rescinding the pact put me in treaty status. To attempt to move further, I demanded that he withdraw. To my shock, his AI declared vendetta on me (although it was my "Nobility" rating that took the hit).
A review of the rules shows that I was not to have done this.
I seek the group's advice on what would be proper for me to do to atone.
Turn to Yoda.
Chip:
Using the 'demand withdrawal' feature is forbidden! I'd say you replay the turn exactly the way you did the first time--only without the 'demand withdrawal'. You may send both turns to our CMN for inspection. (Time Travel is not allowed!)
The problem is that of random features (e.g. pod popping, winning/loosing a battle, etc.). The result from the replay should be used; be it better or worse (random luck).
However, jtsisyoda is the player directly affected by your illegal move and he should make the decision, I believe (not sure).
If we choose to continue with the illegal move, you must sign a trade treaty or pact with the University during next turn! The only gain here is turn pace; losses go to both you and jtsisyoda. (Though, there may be additional tactical issues, i.e. Gaians are at war with Svensgaard and University wants to pact with the Pirates and then re-pact with the Gaians afterwards, etc.)
If in doubt: Contact our kind CMN Darsnan immediately.
That's my advice.

I hate to point this out, but it's not a matter of undoing one turn. I made this move LAST YEAR. We would have to undo five moves.
I know how the move affected me. I am now in a state of vendetta with the University. If I had played correctly, I would be in a treaty with him. I WANT to be at truce.
Insofar as my status is concerned, my rating is "faithful" rather than "noble". If Yoda's rating wasn't hurt, it seems that I am the only one affected by this.
I will leave it to Yoda, but rather than try to re-do the turn, may I suggest that I accept whatever diplomatic state he offers next turn ... knowing that I will downgrade it to treaty on the following turn.
From my perspective, no one else has been affected by my action.

As far as the withdrawal thing, the impact seems minimal. I was still ranked "noble". I offered a truce.

Ok, my time to have problems:
I've suffered a serious crash on my computer 12 hours ago. I have not yet been able to tell how much data is lost. My email-archive is missing and I have been unable to access the internet.
Please have patience.
Edit: I just sent the turn to Net Warrior. I hope it goes through.

It did; I'll play it when I get home.![]()

When the turn gets to me, is there any particular action I am to be required to take?

Rubin, good luck with your PC. Mine died about 5 weeks ago. I got online and custom ordered a new one from Dell. They offer free delivery and it got here in about 3-4 days. (and no, I'm not a Dell employee or anything, just a satisfied customer)

So Rubin, do you think Dell could get you a new computer in three days? My machines (I've got seven networked in the basement ... it's a long story) are all Frankensteins. I take a piece from here, buy a piece there, upgrade this part and move another part over there ...

Dell could provide a new computer to me in three days, I'm sure. However, I've been able to recover almost everything; so, I'm not in the need of a new hardware right now (I hope). Better software is welcomed, though.
Turn 2148 played and passed on to Net Warrior.

2149 to Gaians
Actually, I got a Compaq Presario but they're sold by the same company. I especially like the feature which allows you to restore your system to any one of several points in the past. It's saved my day once already.
