Decent enough game when it doesn't crash (PC Version). The server browser is dreadful. In addition to having EA's version of Steam (Origin) open, you need your browser open because the game connects via a website. If I were to grade the game overall, I'd give it a D+ Perhaps it will make it to a C- if they fix all the bugs and crashes.
Hi everybody, My name is Peter and I'm new to apolyton (but I've been playing Civ since mid-90 or so). I really love Civ and building up a nation from scratch. I never really enjoyed civIII and civIV but with CivV I got caught again... :) Anyways, I hope I don't break to many rules here but I would like to to mention an Android game project my brother and I are working on. It's called Rising Empire and is a empire building game in a fantasy setting. Here comes a short description of it: ...
I personally play one or two hours a day. I usually don't feel like playing much. How many do you play though? Some of my friends play a crazy amount of video games.
I won't be buying it on release since Paradox tends to release games half cooked but I have to say I always liked the original and it looks like they've made a bunch of improvements to make the whole marriage & dynasty part of the game easier to manage. Is anyone looking forward to the release of this game? There are a few previews already up on youtube including one where a guy plays Leon from start to finish. ...
I joined Facebook with my family, its great, we keep up from all over the US. I started playing Farmtown, Farmville and Lil Farm..all great fun/ Then I started looking for a PC version of sorts, got a look at several and found John Deere American Farmer Deluxe, pretty decent:b: Any other games similiar out there anyone may know about, preferrably you can do offline? Thanks in advance, I enjoy playing these games like this due to not having usage of my left hand....
I'm planning on finally joining the current gen of consoles, now that I have a monitor that be used for the PC and consoles. The games I plan on playing on the console of choices are sports, racing sim, rockband/guitar hero and adventure/RPGs. If I got any FPS, it would be for the PC. Online is nice, but not extremely important. What does poly think is right for me?
SALUTATIONS. Does anyone else here play LOTRO? Specifically, anyone else on Brandywine? I've got a lifetime subscription and I stopped playing for six months, but the upcoming Mines of Moria expansion looks spectacular and I've been in the game hardcore now for the past week again. :b: Much better game than World of Warcraft, less little twits running around. Also liked it better than Age of Conan and Warhammer Online, which I only played about 2 hours each of.
I love this game, and it will probably see me through to civ5. the best £8 Ive spent in a long time. Its got a 'just one more block' feel to it when you have a grand plan for a project. The game has no specific aim or goal - its a sandbox game. some people compare the game to having an enormous box of lego, a box which has an infinite procedurally generated world in it also. The game has a couple of modes currently, creative and survival. creative has unlimited blocks for building and...
I'm reading reviews of this game. But I want to hear from any Polytubbies who have played this game - what are your thoughts on this game?
This game looks like it will be great but I confess to having a soft spot for all things Star Wars related. What do you folks think? BTW you can watch the trailer here: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/misc/8943-Games-of-E3.7
<iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/-V1ZF5cNYCs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I really can't wait for this game. It looks like they've upped their game from Asylum if such a thing were possible.
I loved EU2, EU3, Civ4, HOI2, but thought HOI3 sucked ass while I got bored of Shogun 2 with in 48 hours. What's a good game which doesn't suck ass?
My gf just got a laptop, and I'd like to find a fun game we can play together over LAN that we'd both enjoy. I'm up for pretty much anything that isn't nauseatingly bad, but she's a bit pickier. Basically, I think what's best is an RPG-styled adventure game. The thing is, neither of us is going to want to play a grind-a-thon like NWN, and I don't have much experience with other RPGs (that aren't primarily FPSs, save KOTOR) but my impression is that this is common in the genre: it's not that fun...
http://www.freegameempire.com/games/Imperialism is a free-to-download civ-type game covering the nineteenth century with "advances" based on the Industrial Revolution. You have nations and cities and terrain to improve, with diplomacy, trading, railroads and other things familiar to civ players. Minor Nations and hexagonal tiles will be very familiar to players of Civ5. Like much of the abandonware on FreeGameEmpire, I suspect, it seems to have no manual, but its Help screens are very...
I saw this and I thought of you. If any of you have played the excellent bridge builder game, You will know how much silly physics fun is to be had with this kind of game... except this time you're building space rockets! And the other great thing? its FREE, as it is currently in alpha. http://www.kerbalspaceprogram.com/ From their website:
It's due to be out on the holiday. I've bought my copy on Steam. Anybody else?
First come, first serve. Will gift it through Steam.
Still ****ing Awesome. On the one hand, it is hard to justify the $40 price tag. On the other hand, I've gotten at least three times that much enjoyment out of the game so far.
I need a new game. I wont play a game with Steam so CIV 5 is out and so is STW2. I tried the GALCIV demo and it wasnt my cup of tea. RoN had too much "clicking". Any suggestions?
Any? I started playing Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup and damn if it's not addictive. I also tried zangband and z+band but they seemed too slow and boring to me.
Really? No interest in this game? You all would rather play Dragon Age or something?
Anyone else playing Open TTD? I find myself totally addicted.
Or in other word Serious Sam is back... anyone else got it?
Mother****ing awesome so far. If anyone wants to try co-op after I finish the single player campaign, let me know.
game play vid: This game comes out in about two weeks! I am looking forward to this. GTA is going the RPG route. That's fine. But I like running around and causing random mayhem. It appears as if SR3 will be built solely for this purpose. :)
I had a great time playing with some here on Guild Wars, just curious, my hand is standing more workout post accident, considering getting back into this. Wasnt there some mention of a newer version coming out and if so what is the status/feedback? Thanks Grandpa Troll
So I've been playing this off an on for the past day, take my impressions with a grain of salt. But, so far, much better than Invisible War. WARNING--POTENTIAL SPOILERS FOLLOW HERE AND THERE, NOTHING MAJOR, BUT IF YOU ARE SENSITIVE TO THAT SORT OF THING, GROW A PAIR, YOU PANSY
Anyone else as massively excited as I about this? Beta is coming sometime soon - and Blizzard's new D3 community site launched today. :D Honestly, this release has me more excited than almost any other game since....well since forever I guess ;) Asmodean
I got it, I love it. It's very true to the WH40K Franchise(even if they did use the Ultramarines...ugh). It feels like WH40K, of course Relic made it and they've done more to craft the visual feel of WH40K for the masses than even GW, IMO(through the DoW series). The Multiplayer is very, very fast. Like Team Fortress fast. Having come from playing Battlefield Bad Company mostly as my shooter of choice for the past year it takes some getting used to. The MP itself does a pretty good...
Paradox announced earlier tonight that they will publish a new turn based strategy game where the goal is to use magic and armies to become the sole Warlock of the lands. Not much is known yet, but one of the devs said the game is not a successor, but based on, a classic 90s game. Spiritual MoM successor anyone...? http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/08/26/paradox-interactive-announces-turn-based-strategy-game-warlock/
Seriously, it is unplayable right now and is just a complete mess. Endless rebels every where which you can't kill because battles take 18 months to finish and result in 1% casualties, a broken economic system which results in there never being any demand for anything and pops being unable to get stuff like fish or fruit even though you are the largest producer in the world, etc.. Sadly, Paradox has been in decline ever since their American parent company spun them off on their own and the...

One of the things that's puzzled me is given that this is a gaming forum, TNG Mafia was never done back in the day. ADG said he was interested in starting it up again, and if there's enough interest in it I wouldn't mind GM'ing it again. So what say ye, Poly?
Are their any Civ style games that use a system similar to Call to Power's Public Works system instead of having to micromanage settlers and engineers. I want the strategy without the tedium.
Ok, so there are all these banner ads for free online games here on Apolyton. My question is, are any of these games worth playing? Even as a small time-wasting diversion? I'm curious to hear what people think of them.
I just gave Sid Meier's Railroads a try. I was disappointed. The little animations are nice, but the graphics really suck, they need to stop using that damn engine of theirs; too blocky, cartoony, etc. Worst of all though, is the size relation. When Age of Kings came out, everything was scaled to size, and that was fricken great. Now, when it comes to trains, scale should be a top priority; not so at Firaxis! Cities are literally one to two seconds of screen movement apart. So, anyone out...

I'm mainly into rpg's and Civ games. I'm thinking of going for the Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 series again. Although I played it only about 9 or 10 months ago. It might be too soon. I'm just lazy about installing games. I finally uninstalled world of warcraft. It was taking up too much room. I really need to prune my hard drive. I'm not sure what's taking up all the space. But I don't have a backup for my data right now... I installed civ4 again, but not in the mood for that right now. Other...
If you like film noir, definitely play this. If you don't, probably not for you. I loved it. The ending was textbook noir.
