    by Wyrda Edocsil
The game was built from the ground up- the engine, the core mechanics, and everything else. This was done mostly in the space of two years. Of course there are balance issues. Of course they weren't be able to build a perfect AI in time to ship with the game. Of course the multiplayer doesn't run well, because single player, the main purpose of the game, hasn't been perfected yet. The players of the game at the moment are practically beta testers, and their input is being used to finish the game....

    Imhotep,
Thank you for taking the time to write and post this, very well written and comprehensive summary. I respect your opinions. I think I'll just forget about Civ 5 and wait for Civ 6.

I'm not going to give judgement on who is right on this matter, I'll just describe my own view on the game in general and most of al

Civilization V Multiplayer Concepts: City Defense and the Choke
    by ·Imhotep·

With Civilization V only roughly two weeks away it's time to think about the new features and how they may affect Multiplayer. Robert Plomp already has started a discussion about how one unit per tile will affect MP. I'll try to take a look at a new feature of Civ V that has the potential to change Multiplayer at least in the early stages of the game radically: The new defense abilities of cities. As the game isn't out yet some of this is based on assumptions and speculations, but I'll revisit this

    Great article!!

Personally, I try to settle near the resource needed (most often food) to be able to work it directly without losing time on an early obelisk. It's not always possible though, ofc.
