No need for fixes 'cause I found a workaround, but I was wondering if anybody else had seen the same...
Start the game. The opening animations come on (BHG, MS, and the intro animation). If I click to go past these animations, the game is very likely to freeze as I'm starting a new game/loading a game. If I just push the spacebar, it doesn't.
