Im posting, since you asked
3 to im not sure how many players (5?)
Each player is dealt 7 cards. The are in the deck face down, except one is turned face up at the bottom, to establish the trump suit. lets say the 8 of clubs is turned up. Clubs is trump, the highest card is 2 of clubs (always 2 of the trump suit). Next highest card is 2 of spades - the 2 of the other suit the same color as trump. then ace of clubs to three of clubs. then all other cards in rank from ace to 2 regardless of suit.
Play goes by turn. Players are seated around the deck. first player may "attack" the player to their right. They do so by playing a card from their hand. the player attacked may play a higher card (see above) and beat the attack. Or they may refrain from defending, and take the attack card into their hand. Or they may play a card that ties and pass the attack to the player to THEIR right.
If they defend the attack, and no one else attacks it, they discard both the attack card, and the one they defended with. If any other player has cards that MATCH (not beat, but match in numeric value) either the attacking card or defending card, they may "attack" with them. the original defender may defend by beating these attacks and so discard all, or may take up all. When either A. The attacked player takes up all or B. All attacks have been defended the turn (of the first attacker) ends, and any player with LESS than 7 cards in their hand, draws from the deck to go back up to 7 cards. Play now shifts to the next player (right) who may attack the player to HIS right. This continues until one player ends a turn with no more cards in his hand (either before, but usually after, there are no more cards to draw to refill hands) and that person is declared the winner.
