  • How to activate sound support for Freeciv

Recently tried out Freeciv for windows after hearing it now supports SFX and wondering why you didn't hear a peep? The reason is that the sound support is activated but there are no sounds to play! You can download the standard soundset here:

    ftp://ftp.freeciv.org/freeciv/contrib/sounds/sets/

Just copy stdsounds dir and the stdsounds.spec to your Freeciv\data directory and start up the client.

Freeciv really moved up a step Amazing what a few simple SFX can do..
Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.
