Comments on Free Drone Landing
Ok, I've given up the Timescape story for something a little more crazy. So, here we go.
Despite what the prologue sounds like, this story is totally written in the Free Drone perspective. However, unlike any other story I've written, this story is essentially a huge diary that is written in by the main characters. The main characters are scattered all over the Free Drone nation, and they use this diary to keep in touch. Some Data Angel probes have stolen this for us, so we can read along.
Second, I'm letting SMACX write it for me. I've played 50 turns and wrote down all the important events from in that time. These events will write the story. Characters can be killed, or have awesome victories, or sit at home and think technology up. The plot is totally based on SMACX.
Third, I'm going to go in depth into some technical aspects. How does a former work? What does support really mean? What happens when technology is researched? How do government models function? I will try to answer these questions from the perspective of the people that live in this world.
Lastly, I'm going to let some of you guys write the story too! No, I don't mean co-autorship. You can take control of the main characters in the story and influence where they go. For example, if you want to be transfered from Free Drone Central to Drilling Grounds, you can catch a ride on the next military unit out. HOWEVER, if no units leave for Drilling Grounds, your stuck there.
I think this will add a fun dimention for the story. I have three openings right now: Domai, Maxwell, and Irwin. Post here if you want to control one, and also post here to explain your actions for these characters.
