I browsed around a little bit upon finding this place and didn't find anything on thus, so I apologize if I'm creating a useless thread.
I've been having a great deal of frustration trying to successfully connect with a friend of mine for a TCP/IP game. Our IP addresses are static, correct and verified. Our software firewalls are not interfering (this is known since the error to follow occurs even when they are completely disabled) and so it seems that it may simply be my router.
I am running Windows XP and have the Alpha Centauri Win 2000/XP Update listed here. -> http://www.firaxis.com/games/downloads.php
I do not have the Alien Crossfire expansion.
If anyone could offer any assistance with this, it would be greatly appreciated. At the very least, I would like to ask that someone post here, the necessary ports which must be forwarded in order to allow a game to take place. Thank you.

[EDIT]: We are both able to reach the hosting screen just fine, but whenever we try to Join, we enter the target IP, but receive a "Game Not Found" SMAC window with an OK button.
I have considered two possibilities so far - that the required ports are not being forwarded (if so, please post them if you know them, as stated above) or that a port must be specified after the IP (e.g., 121.42.214.248:4000).
I'm at a total loss as to what I can do here, so please reply with any help that you may have to offer.
