The motivation for this modification comes from a request at the Alpha Centauri forum at CFC.
I've modified a SMAC Gaian file so it will perform like the firaxians do in SMAX.
INSTRUCTIONS:
(1) Backup the gaians.txt file in your SMAC directory (i.e. rename it oldgaian.txt).
(2) Download the modified gaians.txt file attached to this post.
(3) Move the modified gaians.txt file into your SMAC directory.
(4) Start a SMAC game and select the Gaians to play. All the artwork will be Gaians, but, in terms of the game play, it will be like the firaxians.
(5) When you want to play the Gaians normally, delete or rename the modified gaians.txt file (i.e. rename it firaxian.txt) and restore the original gaians.txt file (i.e. change the name of oldgaian.txt to gaians.txt).
