  • Mercy on CIV Players mod!

    I made a few changes to alphax.txt to make the game more playable for those used to CIV4.

    Colony Pod:
    Now moves 2, costs 50.

    Colony Module increased in cost.

    Formers:
    Now moves 2, costs 30.
    Available with no tech (mercy for the AI)

    Formers module increased in cost.


    Clean Formers: (EcoEng)
    Moves 2, costs 40.
    Available with Bioengineering.


    Crawlers:
    I just moved them back to pre-sentient algorithms so the game will pretty much be decided by the time you get the silly things .
    Supply Crawler moves 2, Costs 40.
    Trawler moves 6, costs 40.

    The supply module costs 99 and is set to Disable.

    The One Rule:
    Remember your manners and don't reverse engineer the units :P.


    Summary:
    Formers and other boring units now move 2 so you can move'n'work rather than having to come back the next turn, meaning that terraforming takes significantly less time.
    The units cost more so you have fewer of them running around, the cost ratio is the same as for the CIV units, except they cost half as much.
    Crawlers have been pwned because I hate them. Deal with it. Hah!

    This mod is simply provided on the off chance that it may help other nostalgic SMAC'ers find their old favorite bearable again.
