Faction editing

I created my own faction and using ACEdit technology, was able to use a default set of pics. However, the default used Lal's cities as defaults. So i opened up Zakhaorv's pics, selected the cities that he has in a box, copied it, and then pasted it in the default file. It worked, but for one little problem. When i went to play as this faction, the bases all had a blue square around them, while they should have shown the map terrain. It wasn't that smac wasn't reading the pink-purple as invisible, but that it thought the background for that area was blue. It did display my faction logos correctly reading the pink-purple as invisible not blue. While this won't look as strange on ocean squares, it sticks out like a sore and bloated thumb and realy annoys me, making an otherwise good faction horrible looking. When i reopened the file i found that the background was the correct shade of pink, so what did i do wrong and how can i fix it? Also, why am i just a junior civer? Does it have to do w/ how long i've had an account here?
