One of the biggest cities in Greece elected a jewish mayor. It doesn't have a jewish community or whatever just picked one that is. He feels very proud and cozy amongst his compatriots and I think he will do his maximum for his term to be very productive and that's good seeing as the city needs good things happening to it.
Then I discuss with a co-worker, a middle aged woman mother of 3. Pleasant, well adjusted. All in all your average stereotypical middle aged woman.
She says "just look at what happened there, with the jewish mayor".
She also thinks we're being sprayed by planes and other weird stuff.
I wonder why it is that anti-semitism is present in wherever there are conspiracy theories. And why this well to do woman that would hurt noone (jewish or not) not even shun anyone, I'm sure of that, has such thoughts.
