    rules clarification:

-if you're dislodged the colonization fails no matter what
    -you can't support colonizing
-you can colonize a space that was previously colonized
-if more than one power tries colonizing the same space the status quo ante
prevails (the poor natives get confused)

    need retreats from:

Empire of the Formidable Yeast Lifeforms

    The Daddylonglegs from Mars

    need disbands from:

    Anearobe Alliance

Empire of the Formidable Yeast Lifeforms

    The Daddylonglegs from Mars

    Retreats due Thursday

    Disbands due Monday

However, retreats and disbands will be adjudicated as soon as I get them, so submitt them ASAP

    Highly Subjective Power Ranking:

#1 Borg: Nice position in the SC-rich east and are safe for now because all of their neighbors are engaged in war.

#2 Vogons: Sitting right next to the Polish/Balkan SC gold-mine, as long as all's quiet on the western front the big yellow spaceships should do just fine.

#3 Fireflies: Crippled neighbor and lots of nearby SCs. Not bad.

#4 House Mannixia: Nice corner position.

#5 House Harkonnen: Nice corner position.

#6 Bartokian Collective: Good bit of SCs in Italy and the east which should but the Bartokians in a good position as long as the Anearobes leave Italy and they don't get entangled in the east.

#7 Red Force: Getting a strong foothold on the continent might be tough.

#8 The Hive: Decent position, but they might end up with some exposed borders.

#9 Soong's Synthetic Sentients: Aliens to the left of me, bug-eyed monsters to the right caught in the middle with you...

#10 Empire of the Formidable Yeast Lifeforms: Two decent bridgeheads that they could launch a come-back from.

#11 Anearobe Alliance: Two bridgeheads that they could launch a come-back from.

#12 The Daddylonglegs from Mars: Wounded and boxed-in. Ouch.

News Flash: Rich spice deposits found in Ireland.

It was revealed yesterday by our undercover reporter that vast spice fields are growing unclaimed in Ireland. The local inhabitants have been using it to flavour a local drink, "Guiness" for years without realising its full potential.

There are growing fears amongst the locals that this will lead the recent influx of Aliens to come visit their Emerald Isle and spoil it's untainted beauty.

In other news "Red Force" vandals were seen spraying propaganda on London's Big-Ben. It reads, and I quote "Chicken Borg find new home next to Turkey."

    In entertainment news...

The creater of Darrin's Dance Grooves has been forced by our new alien masters to dance dance dance until his twisted soul disconnects from his tortured body. The people rejoice.

Polls find that popularity of our alien masters has risen to new high, role of brain implant chips hotly debated.

Poles mourn continued lack of partioning of their pathetic nation

Norway enrolles several armed snow-mobilers in its army, liberation of humanity by the Norwegians imminent, Norwegians say.

    Harkonnen Press:

The Spacing Guild delivered Harkonnen forces to their intended sites
entirely without incident. Local desert dwellers are being conscripted
to work for our refineries and as our servants as we speak. In
addition, the office of the Imperial Geologic Survey has begun its
exhaustive work in examining the planet. Anyone with any useful
telemetry for them can contact them through the Harkonnen headquarters.
