    Hmm, that's odd... I didn't think my orders were THAT screwed up, and I remember fairly well ordering A Saudia Arabia to Syria.

    Let me check my ICQ log.
    All syllogisms have three parts.
    Therefore this is not a syllogism.

      Snowfire,
      What did your ICQ log say?
      Lets always remember the passangers on United Flight 93, true heroes in every sense of the word!

        Upon further examination, there are no retreats necessary. So lets have 1912 (Fall) orders due next Thursday, April 26 at 23:59 EST. Thanks.

          SnowFire, I've triple checked my ICQ log. I'm sorry, but I have two orders for A Dehli, and none for A Saudia Arabia. I try to glance over orders if they are in early enough to catch obvious oversights. But I got yours as I was ready to do the adjudication. Sorry. If your ICQ log says something else, then let's talk.

            Sorry, I posted that at the computer lab and I only got to my dorm now.

            The problem lies in this: here was the message I intended to send to RUFFHAUS.

            *********

            Fine, but Apolyton is down... I know where the map from Geocities is, but I'd have liked to check the previous moves...

            Oh well. I'm almost certain Russia will come from Syria. Let's see if this works (I'm hoping A Syr-Mec succeds, then A Ara-Syr will succeed too).

            F LS S F MP
            F Sul. S S F LS
            F Sun.S S F Sul.S
            F Mal S F Sun.S

            F AS C A Sum->Hyd
            F GOM C A Sum->Hyd
            A Jav H
            A Del-Raj
            A Pun S A Kar
            A Kar S A Pun
            A Del-Raj
            F Ara S-Ara
            F RS-Egy
            F Syd S F RS-Egy
            A Ara-Syr

            If you do a character count, you will note that this is 515 characters long, too big for a 450-max offline message. So I cut the message in two: the random comments were in the first message, the actual moves were in the second message. However, it seems that I didn't copy the last line to my second message, or something. (this doesn't explain my other screwed up orders, but no matter). Now under normal circumstances I myself would agree the order shouldn't go through, but since in this bizarre lucky break I DID tell RUFFHAUS a blatant overture to making that move... I don't know.

            Anyway, it's your call, Defiant (and RUFFHAUS, of course). If you want the current orders to stand, that's fine, and if you're willing to let me keep my move that got lost in traffic, that's also fine.
            All syllogisms have three parts.
            Therefore this is not a syllogism.

              It is NOT my call, it is the GM's call and that is Ruffhaus, I just wanted to know so I can put my prelims in.

                I'm going to allow the Dutch move to Syria, and consequently the follow up move to Arabia. SnowFire did include the cited commentary along with his orders. Usually I read this stuff, but in this case I went straight to the orders. However, the intent is clear.

                Sorry, Defiant. I know that you needed this decision like a punch in the stomach. But I think it's the best one. This isn't a tournament game, where I think the move would be disallowed regardless of commentary.

                  I don't like it for obvious reasons but that is irrevelent, it's your call and will be accepted.
