  • Help with the start-up graphic...

OK, I'm making my first attempt at designing a scenario (A modern day scenario, an Indonesian invasion of Australia...) and have designed what I think is a pretty good title graphic.
Problem is, as far as I can tell, the game only accepts GIF files for the startup graphic. (title.gif) I have nothing apart from MSpaint that will save things as GIF files, and MSPaint-saved GIF files crash the game.

So, what I want to know, is how to either get the game to accept another file format (BMP, or JPG, ideally) or what I can do to make a GIF file that the game will recognise. Thanx in advance...

Yes, unfortunately, only Gif files work as title pics. They have to be 8bit of course, noninterlaced and with transparency switched OFF
Make also sure that your title pic uses the standard civ2 colors, e.g. the same palette as the units or cities pics.

If you seek some more help, mail me the pic, I´ll convert it into a title.gif for you (check the email button ).
