  • Questions for all on my Scenario

    Hello All,

First off I apologize for me not responding to any more questions on the other post. I have been away for 1 1/2 days. Secondly, I am very knowledgable in Modern Military history so I am lending my hand out to any one how needs pictures of units etc. But I am not knowledgable of making these units. I was hoping that I could get some one else to make them for me;-)

Thirdly, I want to hear you guy's opinions on this: For my italian scenario should I focus on Africa more or the Balkans, the Italians did a lot more in Africa, but the Balkans is always more interesting, any suggestions?

    Cheers,
    Michael

    Hi Michael,

What version do you have? Fantastic Worlds and Gold Edition have unit editors which allow you to import units from other scenarios or unit collections and then modify them. It's a skill you just have to pick up. Alternatively, if you have Paint Shop Pro or a similar program, you can download images from the web and resize them for new units.

As for an Italian scenario, go for the Balkans for sure. You might include the failed Greek campaign, the German blitz on Yugoslavia, the British intervention in Greece, and the German airbourne assault on Crete. Perhaps you might want to include the British campaign to reconquer Ethiopia, which was very interesting as well.

Is there any reason you can't do both? Just make a tall map with Italy right on the western border. I think it would be fun to try and juggle both fronts...

Then you wouldn't have anything to do with French North Africa and Operation Torch...that's why you don't do that...

In that case, just make the balkans right on the eastern border, and stretch to Gibralter or wherever. In the north from the Alps down to the African sahel. Then most of the mediterranean would be mapped. The proportions may be somewhat smaller, but it would still be good.

You might want to check out John Petroski's 'Afrcia Korps' which focusses both. He personally doesen't like it all that much, but I do.
