  • Barbarian Units

I'm creating a scenario that will involve Raging Hordes of Barbarians popping up all over the place. The thing is, I want to limit the Barbarian units to one specific type-a unit that no other civilization can have. I know that this can be done by capturing a city and having it produce that unit continuously (which will happen), but is there any way for the randomly (sp?) appearing barbarians to be limited to only one type?

Figure out which slots will be used for barbarian generation. Make them off limits to real civs and then make all of those slots the same (same stats and icon).
The slots that are used depend mostly on the highest tech level that any tribe has reached. The Barbarian Paper by William Keenan spells this all out.

Yep, that can be done, but you will need to use a minimum of two units slots to do it since barbarian hordes work in pairs, chariots/horsemen, elephants/archers, musketeers/cannons, riflemen/artillery, etc.
