Close Combat 5: Invasion Normandy

I just bought Close Combat 5: Invasion Normandy and installed it along with the Directx7 that comes with it. When I go to play I get an error message saying "cannot get file format on stream".

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I run on a:

Gateway333xl
128 mb
20gb
whatever sound & video card came with it
windows '98

Are you the John Petroski who created those excellent World War II scenarios for Civilization II?
