  • Force Commander. COOL!

I've finally figured this game out a little bit. It is fun!

I was doing a little better my last game. It was a skirmish. I had my main base, about 20 heavy troopers, 2 anti infantry turrents and 1 anti vehicle turrent. I was successful in defending against 3 raids. Each raiding party was made up of 7 or 8 stormtroopers. The second attack had some mobile artillery which my turrents destroyed. Than came the AT-STs, and the air attacks!! I needed AA turrents which I didnt have.

You need to win battles to aquire command points which you use to order new equipment and troops. Turrents and hardware does take damage over battles and needs to be replaced.

The battle action is fast and cool. Explosions, troopers getting wasted on the battle field, turrents blasting everything, air attacks...

The terrain is very good. The battle fields are large with lots of tactical positions to take advantage of.

The last attack wasted me in minutes. The Tie fighters were able to bomb the base without return fire. Next time!

    Some pics...

I'm playing the Empire this time (better weapons). This pic shows the attack group heading for the Rebel base. http://www.i2k.com/~density/attack.jpg

OK, I'll think about getting this game. I have had bad luck with games recently. Although I think the problem is that my standards have crept too high.
Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will, as it did Obi Wan's apprentice.

Well it's nice to hear a good word about it for once - until now just about every comment I had heard about Force Commander had described it as disappointing at the very least (3 years too late, graphics below par - the usual criticisms).
