    Vet:

It is just that I have a lot of ideas in my head, that I haven't written yet, since I fear if I start that there would be things that I couldn't figure out right away, and that would mean I would spend a lot of my time thinking about that, in stead of working on the econ model, which I would like to pretty much complete, before I start working on this one.

Obviously you are more than welcome to code the SI model. It would be quite interesting to see how thing would behave. But I think that in the final version pretty much everything will have to be changed (not the overall look of the model, of cause, but lots of minor details). And therefore I believe your time would be better spent on the UI and other game things. Of cause, it's completely up to you, I'm just thinking about the welfare of GGS.

    XWaste:

Yes, there should be some ideologies in the game, too. But I think it could simplify things if it was incorporated into the class system. And it should include more things, such as public welfare level, military spendings, and the influence levels of each class. So the working class and the intelligentsia could be pretty left wing-ish, depending on the era, and the capitalists would be right wing.

Then the happyness levels of each class would depend on how far your civ is from the class ideology, how much power the class has and the general welfare of the class.

amjayee found a nice looking new library, so the work on our own system is halted a little to see what it offers. My priority is also UI/Map, so not any time soon, but I will code this eventually.

I don't know if any of you have considered this but I believe the game Tropico has a government system just like what you are talking about. It might be able to give you some ideas.

Hmmm yes I remember someone mentioned the game a long time ago. Perhaps someone should find out more about the system they use and tell us others?

Yes, if someone has time, it would be great. I d love to read it, since I will be coding a prototype of this.

              Here.

It seems like a pretty fun game. The player is a dictator at a small carribbean island, and has to get his country into the modern world while staying in power.

It should be out pretty soon. Maybe I'll get a copy and see it for myself.

                  Cool.

I am still not sure what it is you will be programming from this model, and how you will do so. Of cause it's been a while since I've looked at it, so maybe it's more complete than I think...

So I'm just looking forward to see what you are up to!

I'm still a little fuzzy on exactly what we decided to do with the government thing. I have one more exam to take then I will be here more often...
