I was watching something on the History channel the other day about how nations at war used propaganda and psychological warfare against each other. I alos see in mentioned many times in here about how we can use propaganda to get our point across to our sims. And I continue to see propaganda everywhere I go.
How are we going to incorporate this into our little game? I don't think it should be too powerful, but I do agree that it is important.

PS- Amjayee, we Americans aren't really discontented with our government, we just like to ***** a lot. Makes us feel important. =)

This should be in the game. In my SI model I have included it as a way to get a class to completely support you. It would cost some money and you would propably face some unstability for a time, but afterwards that class would support you. Of cause if you wanted this to continue you would have to constantly use money on propaganda.

PS: I am currently working on a new version of the SI model (v0.6), in which you would not need to get a confirmation from your supporting classes every time you built stuff. I am changing it with a more elegant system of a happyness rating of each of the supporting classes, that would have to be kept over a certain level (this level determined by your leg level) or the class would stop supporting you.

PS: The reason why I have not posted in a while is, that I was offline the last few days, but I am now back!

Guildmaster: Not discontented? Well, perhaps not all of you, but there are many of those, I'm sure. Also in Finland. And everywhere - there are always people who are discontented, no matter how well things are. This can be modeled well with the SI system, I think. The key idea is the proportion of discontented ones. If it rises too high, you get trouble. And even the minor discontentment causes some minor trouble.

Joker: As Guildmaster said, the propaganda must not be too powerful. It shouldn't give you the full support of the group, just rise it, according to how much effort and money you put into the propaganda. Prop should be more powerful, the more advanced medias you have available. Also, the more democratic the government is, the more questionable it is to exercise propaganda very strongly - but of course wartimes are an exception. But even the democratic countries use some minor level of propaganda, so it shouldn't be completely prohibited from them even on peace-time - it should just have some unwanted side-effects.
