Activision, you might as well go back to frogger. Nobody is going to take you seriously for any adult games anymore.

Yeah Frogger was pretty cool. It's multiplayer support was pants* though.

Activision does care about its consumers. Well the majority of its customers at least. And I'm afraid we barely constitute the majority of its "CTP" customers.

I would suggest writing to Games magazines, making it clear that a major feature of their game didn't work. This will reach a wider section of Activisions customers and some magazines even give prizes for star letters...

We should at least feel thankful towards Activision for showing us damn fine Civ2 is.

Well reasoned letters to your favourite gaming magazines would indeed be a good way to go. You stand a reasonable chance of getting published and there is nothing more likely to get the management to sit up and take notice than seeing their name being politely disparaged in print. Unlike letters to them personally it reaches a much larger audience. Occasionally it has provoked renewed support for a product but frankly I think CtP2 simply did not shift enough units for this to be likely.

i boycotting activision for now on too. i had traveled 40 miles (well the speed limit here is ~75, so its not really all that far) jsut to find a store that had a 30 day no questions asked return policy. And boy was i glad i did that! i returned it after ~3 weeks of hard palying and alot of stupid crap in the game that made it a pain in the rear to play. i almost boycotted activision after the first CTP, but i decided to give them a second chance. well, NEVER again. and looking at the list of games that leonidas put up, it shouldnt be too much of a problem, they are all crappy anyway (except quake II and wolfenstien - back in their days, but then again, i think activision baught them out after teh fact).

good riddance activision, and boy am i glad i was able to get my money back

            Lucky Nemo ..

You know, I honestly feel had a few more patches came out, it would have been a good game .. I bought the game , thinking that it would be implemented like CTP .. with a crappy version 1.0 .. and a much improved game by 1.2

I will not be buying another Activision game at all .. not just because the game is bugged to high heaven .. but because I feel cheated .. They took my money and rode out of town ..

Hope others had more luck in returning the game.

Hmm, Quake an Activision product... Interesting.

Working in the IT industry myself. Mailing complaints to the tech support dept. doesn't work. Snail mailing customer relations dept. should work (but then, you need committment to your customers to have one), and what definitely works is a letter to the CEO/Chairman. Not that I want to give anybody any ideas or something, but where I work, that gets everybody leaving brown stuff down their trouser legs.

Of course you all will buy other Activision products that sound interesting..Check outmost of all the other companies game and their boards. People are always going to boycot the games but the company still makes them and sells other games. See BOTF for a good example. The companies know that you will be back..

                  hi

well the fact in the letter i read on games domain about ctp2 saying they accomplished what they set out to do when designing ctp2 pretty well says it all. they don't realize the games that are huge sellers like Age of Empires and such are because of the commitment of The companies that make these games..Quality=word of mouth=sales and customer loyality.

                    Activision should learn that they can't sell softwares that ;

                    1. Are totally bugged
                    2. Are exactly the same than older ones...

This game is nothing more than an add-on, but it costs the price of a full (non-bugged) game...

After that they say that there won't be anymore patches, that diplomacy in HS & PBEM is only a dream...

                    Robbers...

So how many of you have taken the time to write a real letter and mail it to Activision?

                      Just checking...
