  • space/above air cities

is there any way to bring back the space cities from ctp1 it would probably require taking some graphics out of ctp1 and converting them to ctp2 while adding about 30 lines of code i just wonder what you guys think

Adding the space level of the game would be impossible, but I suppose air cities could be added. They will look a bit odd though, just floating above the map, and it would also mean that nothing could go beneath it. Another problem is that they would be taking up the same farming land as ground and sea cities, so there wouldn't be much point.

I took a look into the ctp2.exe it seems possible to bring back the space layer but it also seems that there is something missing. For example how do you enable the button for switching between space and earth?

ldl_str.txt contains all the buttons, but it would be one hell of a feat, to add in something that Activision left out due to bugs.

Look into the CTP ldl_str.txt, and search for Space, there is about 12 things there not present in CTP2, and getting them all, in all the necessary files would take a long time.

I found in the CTP2.exe some stuff that should be used in the userkeymaps. Therefore a key for switching between space and earth should be there. Now the other question how to enable the space area. As I remember the button was later in the game available. That's the question how to enable the button or the hot key. Here is the list for the userkeymap.txt:

TOGGLE_SPACE that should be the hot key for the space area.
