• CTP1 SPRITES STILL THERE! (read!)

A sweet mail from Doug Pearson informed us that the sprites for the units that were left are actually still in the sprites file! He also sent us a list of the units with the sprite names, with which they can be called in a mod. With this list we are opening the Modification part of our CTP2 Section...

Probably all too busy feverishly working on ideas of how to intergrate them into the game

Well, I thought this would be easy to explain, but it's not. You need a copy of the "Ctp codes", I think this is the name, found in the Modification section of the Ctp1 downloads. It tells you which ctp1 units are which sprites. A copy is also in the Med mod 4, in the "other readmes" folder, entitled "Med codes".
Note:Ctp2 uses an extra zero in the file names of the sprites compared to ctp1.
Once you have this file, and have identified the units you want to re-introduce, you need to find the newsprite.txt, and note the sprite number of the units you want to change. Then I would suggest re-naming the ctp1 sprites to an unused number with the extra zero used in ctp2, and editing the newsprite.txt to refer to this file for those units.

The sprite for the Ctp2 cannon is Gu019, that for the ctp1 cannon is Gu17.

Well, I guess this did turn out to be pretty simple. It took a while for me to reason out, though.

Ok. thanks. Now i have replace the cannon and the samurai with old cannon respectivly the old legion.

Just rename Gu11.spr to Gu006.spr

And Gu19.spr to Gu019.spr.

Got one problem though. The icon is still the old one also the name is the old one. Not that important for cannon but for samurai its a bit strange

Woo hoo!

You know, I suspected they might have done this, and Pyaray and the rest were just smiling all the while we begged for the old sprites, wondering how long it would take us to find them.

Help - I'm still a little unclear on how to do this. Someone mentioned renaming the sprites, but that can't be done, can it? They're in an archive file!
