  • Tales and diplomacy from Monkey's PBEM world 1...

    Hi all,

I welcome all players who are currently playing in my first PBEM game to post their diplomacy and stories in this thread...

THE BEGINNINGS OF A CIVILIZATION as recorded by the ancient scrolls of the Chinese..

No one really knows the true history of the origins of our people. It has been passed down by word of mouth that our people originated from the Sun God himself. In fact our current ruler, the wise Monkey considers himself a direct descendant of the Sun God and we dare not oppose his words for fear of his ruthless troops.

In reality our people were probably once a tribe of normadic people that hunted animals and foraged the surrounding vegetation for food. Many years would pass before we settled on the river bank where our settlement now stands. We named the river "Hwang He'" meaning "Yellow River" for the muddy banks of the river would literally turn the river yellow.

Our village was named Beijing and today it stands as the centre of trade and production in a land we like to call China. Recently it has been decided by the great Monkey that China needed to be populated by our great civilization. It was only yesterday that the great one has ordered troops to scout the "Land beyond the Sun" in search of possible sites for settlement.

This was the official reason behind the exploration program given by his excellency, King Monkey. However I suspect there is more to it than meets the eye. There have been stories from the elders who were once great explorers themselves. In their tales they told of strange men with funny skin and funny talk and of whole civilizations populated by such men. Whether these tales are truth, that much I know not but I do know that Monkey is determined to find these "fabled" civilizations and put his name in our scrolls of honour....
Monkey I am proud to be!

Back in the dark ages before scribes had learned to record the passing of history, a great and bloody war was waged between the brave, poetic, and cunning Celtic tribes, and a race of terrible bloodthirsty giants known as the Fomorians that have since fled this world.

The great and noble Sean O’Connery was King of the Scots and the leader of all the Celts. He had a daughter Ursula famed for her great beauty.

A battle was fought in the north west of our world at the site of the current city of Glasgow.

The immense physical strength of the Fomorians gave them such an advantage that even the cunning and wit of the Celts could not defeat them. The battle was lost to the Celts and the tribes split and fled across the world.

The tribe of Scots led by their king fled to the Mountains.

In the panic of retreat Cenchos (The Footless) King of the Fomorians, caught a glimpse of Ursula, and with the lust of blood now satiated gave in to the lust of flesh. Charging down the princess and defeating her personal bodyguard with one swing of his magic axe he viciously satisfied his lust.

The Scottish hero Jackie Stewart who was betrothed to fair Ursula realised his beloved was not at his side and so ignoring his comrades who urged him on in the retreat went back towards the celebrating Fomorian horde to seek his loved one.

Catching site of the horrific and degrading scene his rage knew no bounds. He ran through the mass of giants athletically dodging most of there swinging weapons, to cut the ties that bound his now defiled love and hoisting her over his shoulder ran back to the Scots as they scrabled up the mountain, rescueing Ursula.

Cenchos threw his spear and penetrated Jackie’s heart. Such was the will of the hero that he continued his escape even with such a wound that would instantly kill all other mortal men.

Once the retreat was completed and Ursula was in safety, the hero Stewart gave in to his wound and left this world.

The Scots made their home in the mountains. The Highlands are barren and not a good place for men to live. Life was harsh, but the Scotts are a tough race and they bore the burden of their vanquished and impoverished existence.

Ten months after the great battle Ursula gave birth to a son, Frazer. King Sean proclaimed this to be the son of Ursula and Jackie.

The son grew to be as big and strong as the Fomorian’s but he was also the wisest and most intelligent Scot that ever lived and after Seans abdication on Frazer’s seventh birthday, Frazer was crowned leader of the Scots.

From his high Mountain home Frazer watched the Fomorians waste the best land as the giants had not the intelligence to make good use of what they had won.

In the winter when the mountains were stacked with snow Frazer made his move. He employed his strongest men to push large rocks down the Mountainside towards the Fomorian settlement. This caused a huge avalanche crushing all the Fomorians and everything they had built.

The Scots then came down from the highlands and formed the city of Glasgow between the mountains and the sea.

Frazer is still leader of the Scots. There is much rumour of the highlanders immortality. Frazer swears that under his leadership Scotland will come to dominate the world. Some false soothsayers recently predicted that Scotland would be a weak nation dominated and abused by a yet unknown tribe the English. Needless to say the men in question were dealt with severely in one of Frazer’s recent purges.

It is from this mythology that the nation of Scotland emerges.

To all nations and peoples of the world, hear the voice of him who speaks for the Romans.

I, Caesar Rob, rule with a iron fist, and shall defend my territory ruthlessly against all trespassers. Those that pay tribute will receive mercy, all others risk death at the hands of my powerful armies. Pirates and Slavers will be executed on sight as dictated by the righteous law of Caesar Rob.

So that you may avoid my vengence, I command that you avoid the territories to the east, mid way between north and south on the common maps of our day. Peace will be possible, but approach with fear.

What follows is a brief history of the Romans as told by our people for countless generations.

Our earliest memories tell of anarchy. Brother against brother, murder and death at a glance. Our ancestors grew strong, as war is a merciless teacher, and survival belonged to those fit and fearless. Those were dark days.

Then came Robm. He pulled us together, forming a band that he named "Romans." Those years were bleak as Rob would execute anyone for breaking a single law. Later he named himself Caesar, and from that day forward any one failing to address him in this manner was unheard.

Today we live in a small but well defended city that Caesar Rob named Rome. Our days are spent working long hours for the glory of Rome. Our armies search out the land for strange wonders, and those people that would rob us of our wealth.

The Statement of the Goverment of Slav Confederation:

We answer on the note of Roman authorities.

The land where Slavonic Forces will enter is a Slavic Land and if we will not have an information that any Civilization already has annected this territorium, we annouce that it is Slavonic Land and we will defend that territory from the other forces.

We want peace and we dont want to argue with nobody but we will be defending our Land to the last soldier.

        The Head of Slav Confederation,
        Luk Castle
"We, in Poland, dont know the idea of peace at any price. There is only one thing in life of people, nations, and countries that is priceless. This thing is honor!" - Jozef Beck, Polish Foreign Minister. 5 V 1939
