    Ok, the scout came out victorious, and is only slightly injured with 0.8/1 health remaining.

    I hope everyone's ok with this. I took a calculated risk and moved the scout up to the tip of the peninsula instead of healing right away. I figured he would be out of harm's way and will have to double back anyways to uncover territory to the south later, so on the way he could stop in Berlin to reduce the healing time, and by the same token we would have something new to look at. Obviously I would not take these kinds of liberties in dangerous situations. Is that cool?

    *braces himself for recriminations*

    BTW, in the forest the scout's recovery time was 2 turns.

        1-1 is as good as anything.

        The lake area SSE of Berlin looks promising. I think it would be good to have more info about the area to determine possible city locations. That would help us assess the relative importance of settling in that area versus another and the value of denying that spot to our neighbors if we find them very close. We could then proceed into the nearby jungles, where we are most likely to find undisturbed goody huts.

        All that said, heading toward the river mouth SE of Berlin probably offers rapid movement and quicker contact with other civs.

              I believe with a work boat clams bring 4 food and 2 gold.

                My preference is 4-1. This would allow us to see more of the coastal and sea tiles.

                An added advantage of 4-1 is, after the move, we can move it 2-2, then 2-heal in Berlin. This may save 1/2 move. Because if you do it 1-1, 2-2, you will end in Berlin but can't heal on the same turn. Correct me if i am wrong.
