Are we interested in new members recruited from AC forums?
The recent discussion about slow teams made me think we could do some advertising of our team.

well, I guess a lot of them signed up for this team 1,5 years ago. The first ideas to create this team were made before civ4 was released.
Also, what will you tell them? If we post in public we'll be having a very interesting/eventfull next 15 turns, we basicly warn banana + GS we're up to something.
I'd welcome new players, but do you think many people still play SMAC and CIV4 ? I would think most of us, who have tried both, prefer one or another. Those still in the SMAC forums probably don't like civ4 ?
Although, we could advertise to those who wanted to start a new SMAC demogame some time ago.

I'd tell that we're doing well for now, being score leaders and the game is getting more interesting with every passing turn.
I guess that wouldn't rise suspicion and would be completely true.

It's less about playing the game but more about being in a demogame.
I admit, I ceased playing cIV a couple of months ago, though I still read stuff in strategy forums and play turns of one PBEM.

With all this admin role/new members for slow teams hassle it appears that nugog will be joining Bananas.
There's hope he aint good enough to stop our advance in Banana lands.
Anyone having info on how good he is?

I find that new members will generally not make much of an impact for atleast a few turns as they adjust to the game. Unless he convinces them to commit to a defensive build up and leads a brilliant resistance theirs not much he can do to reverse the situation.
I'm hopeful that the new Vox players will be receptive to our overtures of assistance and JM doesn't convince them were the enemy. Do y'all think we should contact those new Vox members specifically or perhaps ask JM for a chat ware the new players will be present. Such a chat would be a good means of filling them in on the game but if we had new diplomatic agreements to offer that would be even better.
Companions the creator seeks, not corpses, not herds and believers. Fellow creators, the creator seeks - those who write new values on new tablets. Companions the creator seeks, and fellow harvesters; for everything about him is ripe for the harvest. - Thus spoke Zarathustra, Fredrick Nietzsche

Which I fear he might easily do if he's one of the top players around here (as it seems).

I think JM is convinced himself, by now, that we're no enemy.
If we tell them 'Hold on Vox, we're coming!' once we start the Peel, they'll be pretty much fond of us.

If they become active members they'll eventually put their heads into diplomacy themselves whereas we'll get introduced to them.
I think it might be pretty soon, especially if Nugog joins Bananas as he might as well take over most affairs of the team.

Team AC, the current score, tech and military production leader of the C4MPDG as well as owner of 3 of the 4 world wonders built to the date, invites new members from the ranks of ACers. The only requirements are some past in AC forums and interest in teamplay (planning, discussing, RP).
* - I'll try to find that "I want you for US army" image and do some photochopping
