  • just wundering.

I know this is too early to ask but seeing the 3 pic for the units I wunder if this will be a memory hog to play. I only have 64 megs of ram and really dont want to buy more memory to play.

Only time will tell but my last commet is the other previous civ games were not memory hogs and played really well.

I also hope to edit and modify the game will be easy as in civ 2.

    All have a great day\night

    Davor,

It would be nice if you posted messages under a title and not just "just wondering", "a thought," etc.

Assuming the three pictures end up becoming sprites (i.e. how the old civ games were created) then there will be no extra burden on your computer but if Firaxis bases the game on a 3D engine, RAM will not necessarily go up but the graphics card requirement will likely be higher. Case in point the RTS/action game Sacrifice. It has huge open levels, smooth frame rates, fully polygonal environments, and incredible textures yet it only requires 64 RAM. However it requires 8 MB D3D video card. So graphics should not have an impact on your RAM only your memory on your video card.

I hope that Firaxis does not limit any of their ideas or art just to lower system requirements. There is no way that Civ III will require more than what most recent games coming onto the market have required. At most you will have to buy a cheap video card.
