  • Combat. . .

I think Combat in Civ 3 should be inhanced. For one, when you flank an enemy unit in civ 2, nothing happens! I think, when you flank an enemy, or do a surprise attack, etc, their units defence should go down. And also, when you go to attack an enemy, a screen pops up, asking if you do or dont wish to fight the battle. If you dont, then the computer autocalculates it. IF you do take the field, then it takes you to a battle map where you can actually command your men (like in lords 2).

The ranged combat should be enhanced to! Like in civ 2, a battleship attacks at the same distance as a warrior, now that sounds extremely unrealistic.

We've definitely talked about flanking before, but I'm not a great fan of it (it's too complicated), so I won't look up the old threads...

I like the idea, Tim. But if you follow the Lords 2 system, you have a mixed strategy/real time game, which I doubt many people will like. Maybe something like the CtP system would be better.

But definitely the option to fight/ retreat and the 'surprise' factor should be in.

You have a good point there. But I still would like to see battles in civ 3 (maybe Im just a war freek).

I think my tactics upgrades relates to this... I'll bump it up.

He meant that he'll post in the thread so that it'll reappear on the front page of the threads list.

              It's Tactic Upgradees, anyway.

I think you're proposing something along the lines of the MoM combat system...

It would be too complex for Civ though...
