Spekter, you're spot on with the fast reflexes comment. I don't have a $200 ultra-fast responce mouse to play FPS or even a RTS, so civ3 had better be a (very good) turn based game...

Certainly RTS would make multi-player games go faster, although personally I think simultanious (sp?) turns would be a better solution.

Check out Warlords battlecry for an example of a good TBS turn into a bad RTS.

      IMO TBS 4EVER

There are some problems with simultaneous turns. How do you do combat? How do you play by email? How do you incorporate everyones moves into the next turn? Don't get me wrong; if you could do it, you would eliminate a lot of the waiting for others to finish their turn. I just don't think it's doable.

not to mention, would st take up more bandwidth? I mean, I can only connect, on average, at 19.2 as it is!

Some advice for Empress - invest in a T1 or DSL

th game should be created for classical turnbase (if it has the simul option ala alpha that would be fine)

there are already enough good rts's out there, we need to keep our good tbs's, there is a different type of strategy involved
